Re: Hope, Healing, and Hardware: The Hard Road Ahead
Hi all, just a quick update on my day 10 post-implant. Nothing too exciting to tell you, which is great as far as I'm concerned. The bruising is dissipating mostly and swelling, which was never too terrible, is very minimal. I think the most noticeable swelling is on the right fat pad which is along the path where the reservoir was placed. The incision is not pretty, but it's not alarming either - it seems to be healing normally.
I'm 50% inflated and will be until about week 4 I'm guessing. I hope that I can start cycling at that point (based on Clavell's protocol).
The pump is behind my right testicle mostly and is sometimes uncomfortable as things heal, but nothing too terrible.
I'm able to go out in public and am wearing my pre-surgery slim-fit jeans even, which I didn't think would be an option. I find that if I bend the penis up, not at 90 degrees, it makes sitting and driving with a seat belt much easier. At home I either let it hang out with a baby sock on it for protection and modesty, or I have some stretchy loose joggers that I can put on and let the penis hang down.
Last night I found a podcast for Urologists that had Dr. Clavell as a guest. I really enjoyed listening to it because we get to hear Dr. Clavell talking surgeon to surgeon and it's not polished or "simplified" for the patient audience. I often wondered whether his awesome Youtube series was meant to deflect patient questions after surgery, or market to patients. The videos serve both purposes but my suspicion is that Dr. Clavell benefits from not having to explain so much to patients in person. This allows him to focus on the procedures themselves, which I imagine would be his favorite part of the job. He appears a lot on this podcast, so search the channel to find topics you're interested in.

Re: Hope, Healing, and Hardware: The Hard Road Ahead
Hi bro
Happy to read your progress. Maybe upload a pic of your scar if you're comfortable with that so we can give advice. Mine begins to close but I have a crust on 3cm. I was a little bit concerned about but watched some videos on yt about cicatrisation and learned that this crust is the first defense from infection and must not be removed. So I let it heal.
I saw another vid about penoscrotal healing and the Dr explained why it's important to sustain your package, it heals faster.
At day 8 I went deflated and now it's easier to make it point upwards. As a replied on a post of a member I put a jock with a hole for the penis and a second underwear to maintain the penis in position. The position is important while healing for your future erect angle.
Best wishes!
