Implanted yesterday
Re: Implanted yesterday
I was just wondering what is the cost of the implant.
Re: Implanted yesterday
I just had mine done via medicare so I don't have any costs yet but I was quoted $37,000.00 if I paid for it my self by a surgeon in Dallas. What I have found is the cost is all over the place depending on where you are at and who does the surgery plus if it's paid by an individual or by insurance. I've seen quotes as high as $55,000 that the insurance only paid less than half that amount. I've also seen prices from guys on here as low as $15,000.Price is real hard to pin down on implant surgery.I ended up waiting 4 years so Medicare would pick up 80% because Blue Cross would not approve the surgery.Good Luck

To wanttokno: During my first implant replacement with the AMS Ultrex (now called the AMS 700 LGX) the doctor put in the smaller reservoir. I didn't realize until about three months later when the cylinders expanded more and the reservoir wouldn't provide enough fluid that it was too small. He replaced it with the larger one REQUIRED with the Ultrex (now called the LGX) which then worked wonderfully for fourteen years. What I'm saying is that since your doctor installed the smaller reservoir, he might be willing to now install the large one he should have installed in the first place. Getting your doctor to admit he made a mistake, though, is likely to be impossible. Since your wife is happy with your smaller size, be happy for her. After all, satisfying our partners is what it's all about.
As for sensitivity... I didn't notice it being different after getting implants - it was as good as ever. The peace of mind knowing I could get it up whenever I wanted was, and is, terrific.

I'm 75 and got an AMS Ultrex in 1995. Had it replaced in 1999. Got a new AMS 700 LGX in 2013.
