Yes, I had the same sensation for a few months. My shaft felt like it was sunburned or the skin was stripped away. That got better in a couple months but every time I'd inflate for maybe the first 4-5 months the feeling returned, thankfully it was less intense each time. My research seemed to point to a reaction to the antibiotic on the cylinders. Since that was in the beginning of the pandemic, I never consulted my doc about it.
The baby sock didn't help much for that, but Aspercream did. A small dab smeared along my shaft calmed that burn down for a good part of the day. Just had to wash it off before sex.
A hot bath helped me feel better too.

Mine can still feel like it’s burning but usually only after cycling and maybe up to a day after. It is a different pain than the pain while inflated… one guy said like a sunburn. He thought it was the antibiotics as well, but honestly it doesn’t matter of it gradually goes away.
It's burned every day. Sunburn is a good comparison.

Thanks, Old Guy. You would think the docs could test us pre-surgery for such reactions! I definitely will get some Aspercream.

I was about to reply with remembering old guy saying that. There was at least one other guy in here that had a similar situation and by memory it worked out fine.
59 years old ED started mid 40s pills failed after 10 years. Injections works but diminishing results with pain. Implanted 5-22 Baylor,Scott, and White Dallas.Dr Michael Wierschem, infrapubic Coloplast with Classic pump 20cm and 1cm RTE. Going strong

Well, they did ask me if I had reactions to any antibiotic. One I knew. Guess you don't know until it causes a problem.

Re: Burning sensation--normal?
I had significant pain and burning the first 3-4 weeks while my penis was partially inflated to point upright. After 5th week doc deflated me to get into flacid position but I never got fully placid. Always some fluid, partial hardness that caused my penis to rub clothing and uncomfortable irritation continued through weeks 10-12. Wore a sock and it helped some. Started wearing 2 pr underwear ... boxers briefs under regular briefs to hold my parts secure in clothing. Just at 4 months now and pain all gone. Still have trouble deflating to completely placid. I pump up in bed every night and often go to sleep fully pumped. Deflate if I wake up in the middle of the night. I pump 30-40 times to fully inflate but with only minor discomfort. Rock hard! I am about 6-7inches fully inflated and surprised many only pump 10-20 times.
Didn't start sex until about 8 weeks ... too painful, though doc cleared my at 6 weeks and told me to cycle everyday for 90 days. Still some trouble with orgasm / angle that I hopes improves over time. With a lot of effort can achieve orgasm & ejaculation when working solo. Still some numbness in shaft as well. Happy and confident but hoping to improve PIV sex over time as others have reported.

All the best to you, OlemanMike. I am wondering about the angle, too. My doc did not give any advice in that department. I hope your numbness dissipates and everything starts working/feeling the way you want it to.
