Implant failure

Postby OregonStrong » Fri Mar 13, 2026 7:22 pm

Think mine has failed. Went to inflate during sex and got one pump and the bulb has gone flat and won’t refill for the next pump. I can reset the system by squeezing the release but it immediately goes flat again with the first pump. I think I can hear a slight sucking sound like if air was in the line when I push the bulb. Frustrating. Never have been a heavy user or my implant I maybe inflate it at most once a week or every 2 weeks. Was hoping I would get another five to ten years out of it before I had to revise or replace.
Of all times for this to happen I’m in Dallas for a big gay event and was looking forward to some fun times tonight to use it.
I think I’m going to see about using Hakky for the revision. I’m a 21+1 LGX. I’m interested in upgrading to a Titan. Anyone think it’s realistic to get a 24 cm Titan or is that too far a jump in size? I’d say my penis is not very elastic when stretched. Just hope he can get me in ASAP. Don’t want to be into the summer recovering.
52 yrs old. E.D. issues started around age 35, combo venous leak/testicular failure. Bilateral testicular implants for severely atrophic testes. Implanted 6/11/20 Dr. Kramer LGX 21cm + 1.

Read a lot about Hakky in this forum. You're in great hands. Only 10-20% of implants fail in the first decade. Don't get discouraged. You're in for an easier surgery, quicker recovery, and longer cylinders. Good luck with your revision upgrade.

Can someone explain the difference between the pumps you can use? Which ones are more reliable?

Anecdotal fact from my surgeon: The Classic/Genesis pump by Coloplast is the most reliable.

The surgeon you pick is more important than the brand. Don’t advise your mechanic on which parts or tools to use. Trust your surgeon (a high volume dedicated implanter).

My surgeon was Dr Eid. He strongly prefers the Coloplast Titan with Coloplast classic pump. He says he has found it to be the least prone to failure.

The classic pump has fewer tubes going to it because the mechanism is dead simple. Coloplast One-Touch pump has an additional tube going to it because the valve mechanism that makes it a one-touch deflation.
57yo, NYC. ED started at 40. Pills, then shots for 10 years. 24cm Coloplast Titan XL w/classic pump by Dr Eid 3/25/2025. Will meet for show & tell.

Sorry but that has to be a mistake. I don't know who told you that but there is no way to have fewer than 3 tubes... all 3 piece implants work in generally the same way.

Oct 7, 2025 - Coloplast Titan XL - Touch pump - 26cm - 0.5cm RTE with Jonathan Clavell. Still sorting out TRT; plan to try a "modified natty" approach without injections.

Sorry but this is total horseshit. I don't know who told you that but there is no way to have fewer than 3 tubes... all 3 piece implants work in generally the same way.

My bad. You are correct. Same number of tubes. But Dr Eid says prefers the older generation of pump (The Coloplast Classic) because he found it is less prone to failure than the Coloplast One-Touch.

So I too am in emergency repair mode as im " off leash" so rarely. keep us in the loop we are here sometimes things just suck.

It must be the valve setup that's different...

I have heard the same, that the classic pump is tried-and-true or whatever... but I don't know what the difference is supposed to be. All i know is the Touch pump is a pain in the ass to deflate... it has the smallest, most impossible-to-find nub of a release button.
