You asked why I didn't spend a night in the hospital? I don't have Medicare so it wasn't a requirement. My operation was scheduled to be done as an outpatient, there were no complications so no reason for me to stay in the hospital overnight. I stayed in a local hotel, as opposed to having my sister drive me to her home, because I had the follow-up appt with Dr. Garber at his office the next morning.

As far as the pain I experienced with the catheter, it was painful with movement, like walking so I stayed in bed that night as much as possible. Dr Garber removed the cath. the next morning & it didn't hurt that bad. I remember feeling a great sense of relief when the cath. & the drain tube were gone.
