I will hit my 10-year mark on December 16, 2026. Absolutely not one issue. I have been a constant and hard user.

i am at 16 months with my Titan Coloplast. No issues at all. I think because we are on a website with just implant users, the statistics seem higher because its either you meet some one who has a failed one or someone who has gone 10 years with one. It also depends on how much you use it as well. i am hoping by the time i replace it, more options will be available.

Thanks to everyone that chimed in. I’m coming up on my one-year mark. Besides making the implant a bit more comfortable when it’s deflated (I have a large implant) my biggest feature request would be to increase durability. I’m 32 and so I lament the possibility of having to go through surgery many times over the course of my life.

Last time I talked with my urologist we discussed the possibility that the two main manufacturers were less interested in improving durability and reliability because that might mean fewer devices being sold. I’m hoping that competition is healthy enough to prevent this. But it does seem that based on my conversations with my urologist that the companies are focused on a remote activation/pumpless design over the core product and its reliability. Having the ability to remotely activate the device from my phone for example would be nice but I think I’d actually prefer a device that lasts 2x as long.
