Are there any Coloplast Titan recipients whose dog ears lasted more than 1 year?

Few doctors claim that after about a year dog ears would go away. I wonder if there are any FT members whose dog ears lasted longer then that. If yes, how long has it been?

Easy question, surprised no one answered yet. Two things happen over time after a Titan implant. There is some initial soreness at the points created by the dog ear creases in the implant. As your body adapts, the pain improves and completely goes away for most people by 3 months or so. The other thing that happens is that the cylinders do soften up some over time. This makes the dog ears less stiff and pointy, again making it much less bothersome. To answer your question, the dog ears never go away. I can't give an percentage, but most people with a Titan are not bothered by the dog ears after the first few months.

April 19 was my 3rd anniversary and i have 2 dog ears one right side halfway and one left side almost at base… i did not expect them to go away just smooth out a bit

I’m not implanted yet. Just curious, have you tried a VED and/or Cialis?

Asking because I’ve noticed an increase of the “meat” or flesh volume of my D since I started VED and Cialis. Just curious if encouraging the remaining tissue (not part of cylinders) could bulk up and alleviate that dog eared bend?

Also, read hear some guys will pump up a little until dog ears go away…

I’ll be getting a Titan, hence my curiosity.

I think cialis (or similar) could help with engorgement of the residual corpus carvernosa tissue around the implant, but that would happen with sexual stimulation, so it wouldn't help with dog ear the rest of the time. Likewise the effects of a VED are temporary. I doubt either would have some lasting effect in bulking up the tissues to reduce dog ears. Pumping up the implant partially reduces the dog ears, but some people find it makes their "package" more noticeable through their pants. Some like that, some don't.

If I were getting an implant now I would try to wait until the new Titan Prime implant becomes available, which is planned for later this year. The website says it addresses three issues with the current models. From what I read, the tubing is coated in Bioflex to make it more resistant to wear and rupture, the cylinders are more flexible to reduce dog ears and give a more natural deflated feel and appearance, and the release button on the pump is larger and easier to use. There probably won't be alot of personal experience to read about for a while, but Titan is a solid company that does it's homework, so I would trust that the new version is going to be at least as good, and probably significantly better than the current one.

This is not true at all. Cialis makes your flaccid twice as full all the time. Arousal is required to get hard, but circulation doesn't completely turn off when you are not aroused.

Also, pumping edema is not permanent, but it certainly can have lingering effects for days so cannot be completely discounted.

Interesting. Would you be able to say from your experience if Cialis or a VED helps reduce the dog ears when the IPP is not inflated? Also, for cialis to work there has to be some residual erectile function, which isn't always the case after prostatectomy and/or placement of an IPP depending on how the IPP was placed.

Similar experience. I had my original 4 years and always had dog ears. As others have said they get softer and you don’t think about them after 3-4 months. I usually added a couple pumps to make them round out slightly. If completely deflated they stand out noticeably when naked but a few pumps make it look perfectly normal
