Children are covered by their parents policy, small discount for seniors, but there is a surcharge for every year you are over 30 that you haven't had insurance, for the first 10 years, and a government subsidy on premiums that reduces once your income is over 105K. I thought the US system was complex before reading his (and your) accounts. Now I'm not so sure. After all you got to compare.
But we got a new (old) president who at the end of his rule intends to make it all "free market". Then all would be really simplified with you getting "what you deserve and not a penny more!"
