Well day 8 of recovery is in the books. I have taken all of my antibiotics, only using an occasional Tylenol or two for pain but not much pain anymore. Swelling is almost all gone. I have been walking around the house and hoping to start walking outside tomorrow. Really happy with recovery so far even though I know there are weeks left to go.

Glad to know that your recovery is coming along nicely. What did Clavell tell you with respect to cycling? I think you got the Coloplast Titan and Clavell has left you partially inflated. Since your swelling is almost gone you may be able to activate early although I believe Clavell ideally wants people to wait till the six week mark.

I my discharge instructions said 6 weeks and I have a telemed appointment for that week. But he also gave me a preprinted set of instructions that said 4-6 weeks if I felt ready to contact him and he might give the green light. I do agree that I will probably be ready before 6 weeks. I am not rushing anything and trust his judgement.

On that note he and I talked and reviewed the consult we had by telamed way back in December, he remembered a lot of the detail (I am aware he took notes but still) the last thing I said was my preference was that I get the coloplast with classic pump but that I trust his judgement on all things and what I wanted was the best outcome. Here are some things he did that let me know that was his intent. He measured me twice once stretched and once after saline inflation and got the same measurement. My over all copra length was 23.5cm. too short for a 24cm install, he could have easily just installed a 22cm with 1.5rtes instead he took the time to trim .5cm off the 24cm implant to maximize the inflatable device inside my corpra. There were several reasons I wanted the classic pump, the main reason is , back in the 90s I had a vasectomy while in the Army, I wouldn't say it was botched but I have had areas of my scrotum where the student doctor seemed to leave tissue behind that is often overly sensitive to touch. With that being the case I asked for the smallest pump available. Not only did he install that pump, he took the time to create a dartus(sp) pouch to hold the pump and created a flap to cover it and hold it in place under and behind my testicles. As best I can tell I easily located the pump early in recovery I can trace my tubes and have found the deflate button. So far I have experienced little or no scotal swelling or pain.
Based on all of that, the lack of swelling and bruising if he thinks I should wait 6 weeks I will follow that advice. But I am anxious believe me.

Thanks for sharing some of the details of your positive experience. Yes Clavell is a highly skilled meticulous surgeon amongst a handful of high volume surgeons. He frequently states that he will treat your dick as his own. Clavell does typically recommend the classic because of it's lowest profile and some potential additional advantages that help with tubing longevity.

I live in North Carolina and had a 2 hour drive. It was uneventful. I did spend the night after surgery in case of any complications. The next morning I took a painkiller and the 2 hr. drive went by quick! I also had my wife drive. Mine was a revision surgery. It was a lot easier than the initial one.

Mbryant, haven’t heard a word in almost a month. How’s it going? On my first revision Clavell did exactly the same with me. I originally had a 20cm plus 1 Rte. with revision he needed 2 more cm so took a 24 and trimmed 1/2 cm off. It was way more weighty and felt bigger in girth and what short time I had it it felt very much more solid as far as anchored at the base. He also did the pouch thing with the pump on me also. Big improved my original pump which just kinda floated around all over my scrotum. Loved the placement as it was behind the boys and could not bee seen in any way. Took a minute to get used to grabbing it but was an easy adjustment. Hope all is going well. Let us know?!
