Genesis vs Touch pump, any strong opinions?

Postby runtsss » Wed Aug 05, 2026 7:09 pm

Looking for any and all information! I’m curious what people who’ve used either think. Mechanical failure? Unintentional filling of cylinders? Any difference in durability, feel, or how easy it is to find and use? My hands have slightly lower dexterity than they used to due to joint issues.

Thanks all.

I’ve had genesis both times and the Dr told me on both occasions that the genesis is more reliable…. Good enough for me. I’m. Going back in for a new one in 5 weeks and hoping to get the new Prime. It supposed to have an easier release button although finding mine and pressing it has never been an issue. If prime isn’t available I will just go with tried and true genesis. Most reliable out there.

How long did your first genesis pump last? And your second?
Wondering about the dependability?

I have the Classic (Genesis) pump, and I really like it. The deflate bars are very easy to find and it just works as it should. It is a little noisy, but IMO that’s not really an issue. My surgeon (Hakky) also recommends the original pump, he likes the tubing configuration better to avoid friction between tubes.

I've had both. I prefer the Genesis. It was easier to find the deflate buttons and the Touch pump doesn't work for me the way its supposed to.

First was 4-1/2 years of perfect pumping, revision was due to misplaced tips of cylinders(erosion) and reservoir practically migrated out just under skin. Second was due to infection. Then third infection, so was explanted two months ago. 4th time the charm I hope. Probably going back with Titan and genesis.

Genesis or Touch pump, it doesn't matter... what matters is that it's tucked away properly behind the tissue so it doesn't keep rubbing. I've had my original Titan Touch for 10+ years now."
