Iv had the inflatable implant for around 2 years now. I’m having to replace it because it’s had a leak. And I’m thinking of going with the malleable now.
Has anyone here gone from Ipp to Malleable?
Can you please give me your honest opinions on both and how it felt going from Ipp to malleable. What’s your experience on it?
Anyone else that’s had a Malleable, please give your thoughts and opinions on it. Is it worth getting, are you happy/ disappointed with it?
Please give me as much information as possible.

Sorry to hear about your early failure. What model was it?
If you don’t mind me asking, how often did you use it for partnered sex? Do you think spirited use contributed to the failure, or was it just bad luck?
Feel free to PM if you’re not comfortable sharing here. For IPP to malleable transition experience, I highly recommend looking up the posts by TheDriver.

The model was Rigicon AX10.
I didn’t use it that often.
However I don’t want to go through this again, so thinking about going with the malleable, which I heard is more durable.

The malleable gives you a greater chance of complications related to your own body like erosion, rather than failures of the device itself... Which to me is not a trade-off worth making
Early 30s with ED from jelqing. Implant by Dr Eid on 24 June 2021 with a Titan 24cm with +1cm RTE on one side and -1cm cut off on the other side

Yes, IPPs are less the prone to erosions, but the difference is not that big. These two tables are from a respectable literature review, and you can see the risk is low in both implants, and almost always there is a reason for it.
Infections
Scaring
Oversizing
Catheter usage
Vascular insufficiency
Accidents (trauma, for example)
Also, revisions are not done on the “device itself.” Every revision is a full surgery that actually causes trauma to the penile tissues, which in turn causes scarring and weakens the tunica and penile tissues, increasing the chances of implant erosion regardless of the type. And thats not mentioning the increased % of infection with each revision, which is by far the biggest patient related risk for erosions. If you keep track of case reports, you see the pattern of infection and erosions coexisting.
If you check the FDA’s public MAUDE monthly adverse events reports, you will see many cases of erosions/extrusions reported in all types of implants, including Titan and AMS, and its not only cylinders eroding, it includes tubing eroding through skin, pump eroding, reservoir migration/herniation into the bladder.
Ive seen many cases, but almost always there is a predisposing factor.
Even here on FT i’ve never seen any of the guys with MPP come back to report an erosion but ive seen countless of guys with IPP reporting impeding erosion/extrusion, but that won’t be a fair comparison since the overwhelming majority here have an IPP so it’s only natural. I’m just making the point that these things can happen in a small % regardless of the type of implant.
These things happen. Im not saying this to scare ppl off. You get the implant because you need the implant, there is no other way around it, but thankfully this is not the norm.
My point is complications, including erosions, happen in both types. Some have a higher % of a certain complications compared to the other (for example, higher % of infections in IPP), but higher doesn’t mean high.
In case of erosions and infection too, the % is low in both types unless predisposing factors exist.
I would say do your own research, but imo I wouldn’t make the overblown risk of erosions a deal breaker.
