Uro Dr. OK’d

Postby HLB52111 » Tue Aug 18, 2026 3:42 pm

Hi guys hope I’m doing this OK. Just wanted to share my news. My Uro Dr., my wife and I spoke on phone today. He said that I have a strong case for an implant. Pills failed, injections failed and he recommended an implant. I was relieved to hear it, has been a long time coming. From March, the first visit to today. Actually started with PCP in January(Viagra). Actually no PIV sex since 2016. Read my previous posts to catch up.
Now I have get back with my primary care Dr. and get referral to implant doctor. I was very happy with recommendation.but wife was kind of overwhelmed with the news.
I will try to recall her words. My memory not very good due to my TBI.
Who is going to drive you?
Who is going to pick you up?
Who is going to help you through recovery?
She is still recovering from shoulder surgery. Now in rehab.
Previously I had heard I’m not going to Atlanta or Texas.
What about our trip to Illinois in Sept?
What about her wellness trip in Jan. 2027?
What about family cruise in Feb 2027?
Kind of dampened my joy. I don't want to paint her in a bad light. She has been a saint the past 13 to 14 years. Right now she is overwhelmed with almost 29 yo daughter back at home and almost 26 yo son at home.
So now I have to carefully plan the surgery timing. Not sure how long this 74 year old male will need for recovery. I have lost 65 pounds since Nov, 2025. My A1C is at 6.1 now, i know my GP Dr, and wife are happy with that number. So standby more to come.

Follow up. knew i would forget something. Looking at the following Drs.,Kramer cape cod a 2.5 hour drive, Eid NYC 4 to 5 hour drive, or Hakky in ATL a flight and drive and course Clavell in Houston. A flight and a drive. Really comes down who will accept my Fed BCBS and Medicare. I figure I will have some copay so good by my TSP account. Am I being foolish? Will have to see how it plays out.

Go see Kramer before considering others. Kramer is more than competent. If you click with him there is no reason to travel farther. His preferred brand is Boston Scientific AMS but he implants everything. From what I read here on FT he is primarily known for painless recoveries. Doesn't mean that you're going to have one with him (let's pray) but I read few accounts here from people who did.

Hakky is the doc that I probably end up traveling to when my time comes in about 6 months from now. Competent, diligent, more reachable than most, with bedside manners second to none. Eid... I think you should go with Eid only if you're sure that you'd be getting a Titan. Clavell is great, but he doesn't like LGX and if that's what you're thinking of (don't do it if you have Peyronie's!) then probably not Clavell. I myself have been going back and forth for months between LGX and CX and maybe Rigicon if I wait before it hits the US market. All 3 brands and all of the devices have distinct pros and cons.

Lately however more and more I've been leaning towards maleable. Less hustle (no cycling, no pumping), simple, less susceptible to device complications (4-piece device [3 components + tubes] vs. 1-piece device). Maleable's main problems are conceleability (it's always erect. It bends vertically, specifically for hiding purposes but-eh... I think in the end it all depends on how sensitive you're about this), and you would probably lose some girth if you're already girthy.
In the hands of the right high-volume specialist, losing length doesn't seem to be the problem. At least that's what I gather from few maleable implantees that post here. I myself am currently leaning towards Genesis. Rigi10 is also in consideration. Tactra is not. Just my two cents.
65 yrs old.
ED since about 2000.
Just moved to Trimix from Edex.
Implant doctor shopping now.

What every, thanks for the reply. Will definitely contact Dr. Kramer. He checks a lot of the boxes. I’m kind of in shock here. Maybe Uro Dr. got tired of me pestering him, maybe he recommended implant to get rid of me. I will listen to the implant Dr. and go from there. Now my mind is buzzing. Who ever said “doubt is the thief of happiness” certainly nailed it. Will my wife’s federal BCBS cover the implant? How will Medicare figure in the implant cost? I’m glad that I have some cash left in my Federal TSP account. Like a civilian 401K account. Hard to fall asleep tonight my mind is spinning, so many thoughts. I think my wife is also in shock. She is 13 years younger. We worked together for 8 years at a Federal Agency. She was a computer network wiz and I worked on navigation aids and radio comms. Thanks again. HLB
