Erection with implant with arousal problems

I am looking for some insight from those with implants. I’ve read for years here about how the implant can look and feel less natural without natural engorgement. I have pssd and so my largest issue is arousal and libido. I am to the point where I’m tired of fighting the battle of oral meds and injections. I want to live as normal as possible. If I decide to get the implant would you guys have any insight on if I could still keep a natural look and engorgement simply with oral meds and not having much arousal or libido? That’s my largest concern is getting the implant and regretting it because I can’t send enough blood there to have good results. Maybe I just don’t understand it enough and maybe I’m over thinking it?

I have the same question as you, my friend...I have an anxiety disorder and generally a somewhat depressed mood...I function with pills but rarely..I can't stand injections...so I'm thinking about the penile implant..I would like to know if it helps psychologically after it starts working...generally if I manage to get aroused then I finish..I believe that if with the implant even if you are not psychologically ready for sex you manage to penetrate then it helps a lot to be able to have good and complete sex

Your arousal and libido will likely improve when you know that have can have a perfect rock hard erection on command 24/7.
That confidence is life changing.

It might some, but this is not a confidence thing, pssd is a real condition due to ssri antidepressants so I’m not sure how much it will help. I will say I can get a plump flaccid state, I just struggle to get an erection without an injection.

Hi Mark,
I disagree with "look and feel less natural without natural engorgement". An inflatable implant is simply a mechanical (hydraulic) device. It doesn't rely on your blood flow in order to work effectively. Pumping saline into the cylinders replaces what blood flow does in a healthy penis. The overall results can be slightly better with engorgement from sexual arousal in my experience. But little or no engorgement isn't a show stopper in my opinion. An implant can't cure your PSSD symptoms, lack of libido/arousal, but it will give you a consistently reliable erection for sexual penetration any time you want. You can still take oral meds such as Sildanefil, Tadalafil etc to improve blood flow/arousal if you wish. I find that I don't generally need them with my implant, but occasionally I take 25 mg Sildanefil for a "boost". I don't have PSSD but I do have 100% total/profound ED from a prostatectomy, so absolute zero erectile function, complete limp dick 24/7. I can get some engorgement when aroused but that's all. My implant has fixed my ED problem completely and I have never looked back.

It feels and looks natural when flaccid and just going about my business, albeit much larger than I was. It's different in that you have to pump it up to have an erection, but that process only takes around 30 to 40 seconds. For me sex still feels natural, but your body does need time to become used to everything. Depending on the implant model chosen the look can be very natural. Thank you. I just thought the glans would not feel with blood if not aroused which,again, is very difficult for me but it fills with blood now so not sure that would change?

I knew it would be functional without, just not sure how it would look. Thanks for the very detailed response!

The implant will solve the rigidity problem of ED. The only effect it would have on arousal/desire would be from being able to put performance anxiety aside. Not having to wonder if you will get hard and stay hard.

Regarding engorgement: I still get engorged when I am turned on. Not only the tissue around the urethra on the bottom side of the penis and the glans of the penis, but I still get some engorgement around the cylinders. My surgeon said he tried to preserve that tissue as best he could when implanting the cylinders and in my case that has worked.

If I am pumped very rigid there is t much room around the cylinders for engorgement so I don’t notice it much. But if I am deflated and am getting turned on I get thicker and rounder just as I did before. I get erect. It would t be firm enough for penetration but then I start to pump up the cylinders and stop when I get the firmness required. That is far less than 100%.

Expect to keep whatever engorgement of the glans and tissue around the urethra. That blood supply is separate from the corpora. Perhaps you’ll still have some limited engorgement around the cylinders as I do.
