Length question
Revision surgery was 3 weeks ago. Next follow up in 4 weeks to show me (hopefully) how to pump and deflate. I lost some flaccid length from all the procedures. My question is for after recovery, does it get longer when you pump it up when you start cycling? And have you had success in gaining length the longer you cycle? TIA.
73 y/o. ED started 2015 due to plaque from high cholesterol. Pills worked until recently. First implant surgery 2/27/26 creating hematoma. 3/28:sepsis. Removal of implant 3/28. Revision surgery 8/17. 8 week wait period prescribed before cycling and sex.

Re: Length question
Yes, whether it’s the conventional wisdom of guys on this site or the evidence in the many studies on this, virtually all guys have the experience of a perceptibly shorter erect dick immediately post surgery that eventually gets back to their pre surgery size if they follow a standard cycling regimen.
It seems to be different for everyone when you will get back to your pre-implant size, it could be a few weeks or it could be months or years. But the studies show after two years virtually all men are back to their pre-surgery size.
That is in regard to first-time implants. A “revision” is when you are already implanted and you get a new one. Is this a revision for you? I suspect it works pretty similarly… the new implant needs some time to adjust and extend itself fully. If indeed you got a revision, doctors are often able to insert a slightly larger implant on revision than what you had before. If that’s the case with you, you may even wind up slightly larger than your prior implanted penis.

Born 1974. Implanted 5/21/2024. AMS 700 CX 21cm, 3cm RTE. Penoscrotal. Venous leak my whole life. Pills helped, but hated the side effects; worked less as I aged. Skipped injections. Grateful to bionic brotherhood that helped me make this decision.

Re: Length question
I had my first implant done 2/17/26. First: hematoma. Next: Sepsis from infection. That caused a lot of scar tissue. Revision surgery done on 8/17. Surgery took 3 hours vs the normal 2 hours and reduced the size of the implant by 1 CM because of the scar tissue. I used traction every day for the those 3 months to help minimize shrinkage. I’m asking if cycling will help regain most of my length.

I am a great believer in the water filled VED.
I will get the all clear from my implant team first but a combination of gently pumping the VED and the implant should speed things along a bit.

Re: Length question
Fitzgerald 2012, you certainly haven't experienced what you signed up for. Hopefully all will go well from this point forward. My initial IPP surgery (Oct 2025) was aborted due to a urethra tear and I ended up with a mailable implant on the left side, nothing on the right side (where the tear occurred). So I had some scar tissue formation on the right.
The revision surgery was performed at the end of Jan, 2026 and I have regained almost all of my length. It's been a slow process, but cycling daily is paying off. Before the implant, my flaccid length was "short" due to ED. With a VED I could get a 6 3/8 inch erection prior to the IPP. Although I have the AMS 700 CX, which technically isn't designed for expansion, I have slowly gained some length over the past 7 months and now measure 6 1/8 inch pumped to 100%. Flaccid length is 5 1/2 inches. That flaccid length changed the most over the past several months. I'm guessing scar tissue was stretched out during cycling causing the flaccid length to increase.
Hang in there as it will get better once you start cycling. I have been very religious with the cycling and it has paid off.
The best to you in your recovery. Please fill in your signature line as it's very helpful to the rest of us in answering you.

Re: Length question
Thanks for the update, Fitzgerald, that makes sense. Sorry it’s been a rough road, but welcome to the brotherhood and hopefully this time it goes better!
Did you get the same size implant (including RTE’s or rear tip extenders) in your revision that you got in your original? If so, then you likely did not lose any length due to the various procedures and will wind up where you were beforehand.
If you perceive your flaccid right now as smaller than before, it may be due to swelling around it and/or the implant not being fully extended, often because of some of that swelling.
As for cycling: my view is that a lot of guys misunderstand cycling, thinking that it is sort of like exercise, and that if they work out their penis and stretch it that will make it longer. There can be a bit of a “no pain, no gain” attitude. But I think that misunderstands what is going on. You were fitted for an implant that your penis can already accommodate, as you were measured on the surgical table. Cycling is essentially a process by which you help that implant extend itself fully. You should be diligent about it, but there is no evidence that pushing the limit does anything at all… the implant doesn’t get any longer than it was to start, and again, you can already accommodate it. There is some evidence that over multiple years regular inflation will slightly stretch your corpora so that you can accommodate a longer implant, but that is a function of time rather than aggressive cycling to start, and you really only get the benefit when you get the new longer implant later.
Regardless, with diligent cycling you should get to full extension or pretty close within a few months, and as I noted previously virtually everyone gets there within two years.

Which implants did you get you get btw? You may want to consider adding it to your signature. It does matter you know. If you can tell us who implanted you that would also help because people here on FT usually know most implanters and could give you a general idea what to expect.
65 yrs old.
ED since about 2000.
Just moved to Trimix from Edex few months ago.
Implant doctor shopping now but doing BPH first.

Re: Length question
First off.. Letoman, I’ve watched many videos by Clavell, Perito and Eid and they all say that even the old school Coloplast titan will stretch out a small amount over time and there are AMS products that grow by design so cycling can in fact extend an implants length while growing to fit your corporal body.
Not back to posted question. I recently went thru a similar experience, revision in February then 6 weeks later had salvage with another exact implant placed then another infection followed by an explanation. I only went without for 90 days but used a VED a LOT. Upon my recent implant 4 days ago I received a 2cm shorter implant than I had received with my revision. Dr explained that my distal length measured the same as previous revision only that the scar tissue in the proximal portion ky allowed less by 2cm. He suggested I would get the same length as previous. Time will tell. So far it looks good and by all appearances is as long as I was before except for a little puffiness around the base. See my signature for specifics on dates and lengths.

Rider, that is simply not true: there are no videos of those guys saying that IPPs expand lengthwise. However, there are plenty of videos of them saying they expand in girth, so you may have confused the two.
For example, here is Clavell stating that IPPs “definitely does not improve” length, though they may increase girth. https://youtu.be/I4_X58B5qYA?is=MpsjdD55r9EyxYPX. The first two minutes cover this, the quote is at 1:30.
That is consistent with all of the studies on the matter, which consistently show that after a period of up to two years, IPPs, including the LGX, do not increase erect length beyond the measurement that was obtained with an intercavenous injection prior to implantation. For example, consider this study of LGX implantees that found “no statistical difference was seen between the baseline ICI-induced penile length and measurements at the end of follow-up.”

A few days ago a user on this site showed mathematically why the force exerted on an implant expands it girthwise but not lenthwise. I’ll admit I can’t follow the math! But it is very interesting: viewtopic.php?t=28784
Look, I’m always open to considering other evidence. But I’ve been through this with a couple of other guys before on this website, and nobody has yet been able to produce these supposed videos of docs saying the implant will make your dick longer, nor any scientific evidence that they do. We owe it to the brothers that come here to give them accurate information. And it is simply inaccurate to say that implants make dicks longer, other than those small increases that happen when a revision is able to accommodate a larger size implant.
