When did your surgeon deflated you after surgery?

Postby Mangotin » Fri Sep 11, 2026 1:20 pm

I’m on my first week my surgeon keeps me 70% inflated ( coloplast titan )and its very uncomfortable. Another question is girth at 100% will be larger?and will my flaccid length will be the same as now?

You will almost certainly gain (regain?) girth and length in the coming months of cycling?

It is vitally important to follow YOUR surgeon’s instructions. Although it’s interesting to learn when other guys were deflated or allowed to cycle or how much they were left inflated for how long…. The only thing that really matters is what your surgeons wants to do.

What instructions did they give you about how long you would stay inflated?

Hang in there and do what your Dr says to do. I’m 10 days in on a revision and it’s very uncomfortable but I’m dealing because I know this too shall pass and then I’ll start cycling and enjoy using it again. Just hang in there and it WILL get better with time. First few weeks are the hardest.

You've gotten good answers, here. Follow your doc's advice.

I was left at 70% inflated for a week. My surgeon did a "minimally invasive" approach that might not be the same as yours.

It was very uncomfortable until he let me start cycling, but there were reasons for leaving it inflated and I'm glad I did. I had to do some things to hide the erection for a bit.

FWIW, my erect length increased by about an inch within a year after surgery. Once I was cleared for inflation and got past the initial pain, inflating it often seemed to help the growth.

Every surgeon has a different protocol and it's critical that you follow what your own doc tells you, regardless of what we all experienced.
I was 30 to 40% erect for the first 6 weeks. That was basically having a boner 24/7. Once I started cycling at 6 weeks everything slowly improved.
In most cases you should expect to return to your pre op erect size or very close. With an implant I am much larger flaccid than I've ever been and that seems very common. I think it would be unusual to lose any flaccid length.

With first surgery Clavell’s protocol was 6 weeks at 50% or more. I asked him in week 4 if I could deflate some when I need to go out and cycle and he gave me the ok but said not to be very aggressive on the cycling because of swelling. It helped to deflate when I went out, but then I’d pump it back up when I got home.

The reason for keeping it pumped up is to avoid any issues with regaining size, so it is likely something important to all of us. It helps to establish the space for the cylinders.

He told me I didn’t need to stay pumped up for 6 weeks after my revision since the space is already established. He said I could deflate when I wanted and just make sure to pump it up every couple days. I’ve been pumping it up multiple times daily when I’m home anyhow.
Implanted 2/14/24 at age 50; revision 8/25/26 at 52 due to tubing fracture at pump; both 22cm Titans, no RTE's, classic pumps and implanted by Dr. Clavell. Years of worsening ed, tried everything, venous leak confirmed 2/2/24, surgery scheduled.

Mine deflated me 7 days after surgery. Wasn’t fully inflated post surgery. Not sure exact percentage inflated.
