So I bit the bullet and went to the final frontier. I felt like I know a lot of what was to occur from reading this forum. Pretty certain my wife was worried but she let me do what I told her I felt I needed to do.
The pre-op was pretty standard. I woke up in my room and apparently was nauseous - don't remember much at all. I then woke up and was pretty lucid with a little pain. The doctor came by and said the surgery went good but he had trouble getting the pump in my smallish scrotum but he did succeed. And, for some reason, he had to make a small incision to help with placing the resorvoir.
He had my penis packed with gauze and a jock strap. I have not seen much bruising and the penis is just swollen a bit. The tip is tender though.
Had a terrible night though, mainly because I have a bad back and was positioned awkwardly.I was just miserable. The Dilaudid helped though. An, somehow, my good right knee felt like it got sprained ?? This and my back were really hurting me.
They took out the catheter Saturday morning and it hurt badly, but only for a few seconds. It was about this time I was thinking I was doubting having this done in the first place.
Then, they wouldn't let me go home early Saturday afternoon because I had too much urine in my bladder. I was irritated and walked six laps around the large wing, in an effort to free up some of the urine. Finally, after filling 4 urinals halfway, the doctor reluctantly let me go. I DID NOT want that catheter to be re-inserted. The removal of the drain was not too bad. I am able to sit up and I took a walk around the block, as advised by my doctor. I have been taking the pain meds around the clock. I seem to doing pretty good all in all. I am excited to see this thing in action!

Sounds good. Keep your Tylenol and ice packs handy. This will be over almost before you know it.
Congrats and good luck!

Good luck on your healing.
Agree with Dave.
Also make sure you get couple of disposable urinals. That would be easy for you to pee with the inflated penis.

Ice packs and warm baths are your best friend for a few days
Just remember a little discomfort will be the norm for the next 3 weeks or so but t
hings will get better rapidly after that

Hi James
I agree with all the boys have said, the ice pack will be your very best friend through the first week of two, I found it best to have flat packs ,not too big that I could mould around my scrotum, eased the pain and kept the sac contained away from your thighs. I am almost at week two and looking back I think I have progressed really well, Raul seems to be coming along even faster, I think he is pushing himself to get back home soon a mighty effort! It's hard to not have your thoughts in your crutch most of the time, like Raul I find the walking really knocks me out but my doc has said that laying really helps the healing process and that I should let my body tell me when it is ready, but being strong, tough, macho guys we all seem to push the timelines, mostly its what helps us to get back to our normality but be careful I pushed it a bit over the weekend and ended up having a bleed and very tender wound. One of the guys told me pre op that everything is part of the process and I have to remind myself of that over and over. Patience!!!! Bloody difficult at times.
All the best mate, keep remembering why you are in this position, my wife got some very sexy underwear to give me a mind boost, much better thinking about how sexy she looks than thinking how sore my nuts are

Thanks all of you for your positive comments. Feeling a bit better today. The ice really helps and I will try the techniques mentioned here. My doc said to walk, so I am and it isn't bad. My penis girth seems bigger and I wonder if I am partially inflated. I go back in two weeks.
Re: Implanted Friday am....my account so far
It seems that some doctors send their patients out with an erection like with Raul but mine was deflated to a semi by the doctor before I left the hospital and then deflated a bit more at our 8 day visit but the girth is already dictated by the width of the cylinders so no more shrinkage, after two weeks it feels very normal to wake up with morning wood.
The walking is good but be sure to rest up as much as you can it helps the healing.
Cheers
