I'm trying to find some stats on AMS and Titan Implant devices in terms of reliability and failures. I couldn't find any stats.
So just checking if it's possible to get statistics?
If these are not published anywhere can we attempt to get stats at least from the members of this forum.
1) Mechanical Failure Count / Total Implants per Implant Model
It would be nice if the mechanical failures can be categorized.
2) Length (in years)of the Penile Implant before it failed per Implant Model.
3) Penile Implants by Age Group.
18 to 20
20 to 25
25 to 30
So on... Range of 5 years.
4) Infection Count ( i have seen some stats published by few of the surgeons
5) Implants Success Count / Total Implants by surgeon
6) Reason for Implants
Example : Venous Leak, etc.

Reliability:
Titan is a bit superior to AMS. At least with respect to implant cylinder durability. That's due to their bioflex material. Statistics are publically available, but most of them a bit out-dated.
In my case (Mentor Alpha I = predecessor of Titan) the leak occurred at the interconnection of reservoir and tube. Maybe provoked by a harpoon diving chase... pressing the harpoon's handle against lower abdomen on reboosting it in the sea. Titan average durability 15-20 years.
Basic problem: About the current models no valid statistics can exist, because most of them are going to fail or be worn off in the future, and maybe they'll resist eternally... noone can know that.
In terms of infection resistance on operation, AMS is a bit superior due to it's coating. But in a normal operation with normal precaution infection shall not occur. Infrapubic access is less infection prone than penoscrotal one.
