Normally I wouldn’t be too concerned and realize replacement are necessary after several years. But I made an appointment with Doctor Beley in Paris (I live in France now) but his earliest appointment isn’t until April. I’m concerned because I’ve read that is really considered an extremely long wait for a replacement and it becomes a very high risk of complications including losing a lot of length and girth along with other issues.

I’ve written Dr, Beley about my concerns but haven’t received any response. Anyone else have to wait so long for a replacement? And in April it’s just consultation so no idea when the surgery could happen.

I’m very stressed and not sure if my concerns are unfounded.

Was your previous implant done by beley too? Are you with French insurance, so surgery will be free? I wonder if the long wait times are related to Insurance. I assume self pay would be faster?

If you do have French insurance, could it be transferable across the EU, especially on emergency basis? There is Dr. Osmonov in Germany that I read plenty of good things about. There are also competent doctors in Italy and Spain.

Another piece of advice, particularly in your situation. Make a virtual consult with Dr. Shaeer from Cairo (google him). Great specialist with 30 years of very high-volume, very versatile experience who knows them all too. A pleasure to talk to as well, and only $50US per consult. Explain your situation to him and go from there. He'd know what to do in your case, and how quick of the intervention it warrants better than any of us. Trust me on that. You'd thank me later.

Please contact Coloplast or Boston Scientific to obtain a roster of surgeons. This procedure is not a brain transplant, so selecting a surgeon who lacks fame within the very limited FrankTalk sample is acceptable.

I am entirely confident that France has surgeons you may not know.

Funny, I was talking about it with somebody else today :D Neither did we. I know couple of people that scheduled with him but they're not on this forum. I know one guy on this forum who is considering him for future revisions.

I found his take on things invaluable though. Some a bit controversial in my book but very informative nevertheless. I was particularly interested in various ways of handling superpubic fat pad to facilitate elongation, why pick IPP over MPP, and LGX vs. AX. Got a earful, and a lot of things I haven't considered before. Next time I'd asking him to do the reverse: why MPP over IPP. Let's see if hear something I didn't think of.
Mentioned him to couple of the US implanters already too and got very positive nods in response. They all know him through his work and various conferences. Just booked an hour with him for next month. If that's the way it's going to continue I'm going to have him as my "outside consultant" throughout the process. Don't expect him to advise me on picking the right doctor though. Most :P implanters avoid putting one of their colleagues over the other, although it's never a big science to see which one of their colleagues they don't care for or whose philosophy of implanting doesn't match with theirs (too aggressive vs. too conservative, etc.) He says he's been implanting for 30 years: started with 90%mpp and 10%ipp, currently @ 50/50. That's why I mentioned the word "versatile". Says he had some works published with Carrion among others. I'm going to be seeing Carrion soon so it stuck with me.
