Hi, please read my post immediately above this one addressed to the other user and let me know what you think I should do. Thank you.
Are you asking whether I think you should go with the NYC doctor or Hakky? No disrespect, but it's not my place to make that decision. This is about your body and it's your journey. No one else's. I only know my experience and my situation. I am not an expert. I spent the last few months researching the bejesus out of this topic, talking to other patients, participating in these forums, and informing myself. I did not listen to a couple of other people. I did not rush to any conclusions or decisions. I did not approach this in panic mode.
I don't know the NYC doctor. I am a patient of Dr. Hakky and I like him as a urologist, a surgeon, and a human. I live in Atlanta where his practice is, so it was convenient and a good personality match, so I didn't look any further. He and I discussed the study you're asking about, but we decided it wasn't the right product for me. And it isn't FDA approved so my insurance wouldn't cover the cost. I went with the Coloplast Titan with a classic pump because that model worked best for my body and preferences and lifestyle.
So... getting back to your question... what I think you should do is keep researching and weigh what you find carefully before deciding for yourself. Talk to more of us here to figure out how we reached our decisions, and let that help inform your own decision. Don't ask us to make it for you. Go on YouTube and watch videos by the leading surgeons to become familiar with the terms and products and symptoms, whether you become their patient or not. You don't have to get an implant tomorrow.
