First Pump up today

Postby JamesG » Tue Dec 02, 2014 7:06 pm

So, went in today, 7 weeks post implant. The tech felt around and found the pump. It is low and towards the back as I have a rather smallish scrotum. I had taken two pain pills before going in but youssahh, it hurt pretty good as he was trying to squeeze the bulb. Almost like getting racked slowly. He was able to pump me up to a vertical position but he was easy and didn't push it as I might have punched him out. He then deflated it.
He let me try it and I just couldn't do it. The bulb kept squishing around. I think I can get it done with practice. He said to take a hot bath to loosen things up. And, I have to grasp the tube going into the device while pumping.
I am sure there is a learning curve involved. I have to go back early Jan to demonstrate I can pump and deflate properly. I have no doubt I will get this mastered but it is no cakewalk.

Hi james
You are on you way, sounds par for the course, that bulb is such a slippery buggar it will continue to be a Challenge for a while yet I am at week 8 and have been pumping for about 2 weeks when I was activated, same experience, now I can get it up & down but still have Hurt moments. But now that we are having regular sex it is worth the occasional "What the Fuck" moments.
Happy pumping and all that it offers you
Cheers

Thanks Zac and for your informative posts. I had read here but was kind of surprised at the pain. It wasn't excrutiating but it was not pleasant. I just kept thinking about the results. The tech said it was pretty normal for my timeline and the hot baths will increase the blood flow and I may still be sore from the surgery. But, even through all of this, I feel like I have passed a milestone, and for that, I am happy.

Hot bath is a good idea. Practice makes perfect. Soon you'll be able to do it with your eyes closed. Your scrotum will hurt from squeezing it at first, but goes away with time

Hi James

I haven't reached the pumping stage, another 2 weeks. However, I remember reading in another post that someone recommended using a washcloth in the tub to help keep a grip on the pump.

I use the longest three fingers of my right hand to form a cup behind the bulb and then press on the bulb with my thumb. The cup formed by the fingers keeps the bulb from slipping out. I also use the two-handed method described in other posts. If you are not familiar with that, use the search box to find the description. With that method the bulb hardly ever slips out. If it does slip out it bangs a testicle which sends me an alarm to correct my form. ;)

Has anyone tried sitting in a hot tub instead of a regular bath tub? I'm going to be at this stage down the road.

Yes, I did. Feels good. Also my testicles floated up out of the way so I could feel the pump easier to get an idea of where the parts are.

Only a shower in my house, but a good long HOT shower should do the trick. Yes ?? I'm scheduled for my implant on January 19th
age 80. Prostate removed (cancer) 20 years ago. ED resulted. 19+ years did nothing. Tried pills, vacuum pump (HATED IT), injections worked sometimes, but not dependable. Presently have a inflatable, worked the 1st year. Not working for me now.
