Pump stitched to scrotal wall???

Postby sabaone » Sat Nov 29, 2014 12:20 pm

I remember seeing one member write that his pump was stitched to the scrotal wall till the doctor needed to start pumping. I don't remember who wrote this, but I was wondering whether others of you have had a similar experience?

I'm just past 4 weeks and the pump is high in the scrotum, right under the penis. The whole area is uncomfortable, and I believe it is partly due to the fixed location of the pump. Furthermore, I believe the pump was stitched because I can see what looks like tiny white threads where the dissolved stitches were located. My doctor, while friendly, has been rather closed-mouth about what he has done, I think, because he doesn't want me to get ahead of his schedule. And i can respect that, I'm just concerned and anxious. I'm also wondering whether that is a common practice (certainly just for the peno-scrotal approach.

That was me that posted that. I assumed the stitches were on the inside as I still believe is the case. I have an appointment this week and plan on asking a lot of questions. When I asked him about pulling the pump down which I agreed to do in the pre-opt paperwork, he replied "Don't worry about it I sewed it to the scrotum. My Dr has done over 2500 implants and is now 74 years old but still very capable. I had never heard that before either. I will find out more soon. I was relieved I didn't have to tug on that thing since even touching it sent shockwaves of pain throughout the body. Infrascrotal approach. He says infra public has a higher chance of nerve damage enemy though an easier surgery for the Doctor. He does not do infra public. He also Thames a good hour and a half during surgery. I am on day 16 post op, stitches out. All seems normal to above normal. Still uncomfortable. Better though each day. I will give an update after I see the Dr.

Spoke with the surgeon this AM, and yes, he did stitch the pump to the scrotal wall. I have an appointment with him tomorrow, and I'll ask his reasons for doing so.

Sabine!! Good news! I figured this shit out! I can now activate the release valve and pump it up to maybe 50% but enough to implant it in a little slut last night! She was amazed as was I:-) I have posted on here around day 7 that I could not imagine anyone fucking away at 4 weeks! Now I see this is indeed possible since I was gingerly of course on day 16. The Dr didn't activate me I activated me! Lmao. I do not advise this of course. I was born under a bad sign and basically do not follow any rules but my own. Anyway all is well and I can't wait to wear this sucker out! The pain is a lot less in the penis once I figured out how to activate the release valve. Overall pain is down to around 15%. Much better than 3-4 days ago. I am suppose to see the doc this week and I think the sewing is a good idea. A lot less pain than tugging away on something that hurts to touch:-/ if you have the Titan the release button is side to side not front to back on the box. Finally figured it out:-) pumping not so easy but after last night my confidence has soared. I can't even fathom the wear I am going to subject this baby to in Jan when I am back to my real home in Chiang Mai:-) I did ask the doctor about what Coloplast says about it surviving ten years if you use it once a week. He said forget that shit!! Let her rip, ride and enjoy yourself! Right on Doc. Dr Reed is fast becoming my favorite doctor:-) good luck figuring shit out and it doesn't hurt to take the initiative to some degree. Not like me but in moderation. A word I just can't seem to grasp:-)

Yes, mine is stiched to the bottom wall of my sack, thats my least favorite aspect of my surgeons technique. He tells me that at revision time he'll leave it loose since I find it to be slightly irritating, or at least it was for several months. Now its just there but I still think that I would like it more if it had been left loose to float/move around.

Thanks for the responses. I remember the doctor saying it was stitched, yet my wife, who was in the office at the time, remembers him saying it will descend. seems like contradictory statements. Mine,as i wrote, is located forward, in front of the testicles. The doc said he placed it there so it would be easily accessible. I'm concerned, that when I can start intercourse, that pump will be banging against my wife and make sex uncomfortable for her, if not for me as the pump, in reverse, will bang against my boys.

I see the doc on Monday, so I hope to get things straightened out, at least verbally. I worry, were it to have been stitched in, that he'd have to go back in to let it hang (and will the connecting tubing be of sufficient length at that point. Right now, the tubing is very prominent along the left side of the penis. Maybe it's sort of bunched up, waiting for the pump to descend. Anyway, a lot of this is speculation (as to descent), just have to wait for "the word."

My doc said it's way too dangerous to stitch the pump to the scrotum.

I posted this on FT about stitching .....

I think the stitch is only there to work doing the healing to hold the pump in place. And then it dissolves and releases the pump to move around. Some doctors have their patients pull down on the pump post op to position it low. Dr. Cornell "probably" figured out that it is better to just park it for the first couple of weeks with dissolving stitches and it will stay there.

I have a dipple on my scrotum which I think contains the stitch, just above my pump.
-------------------------
Have my first visit to be activated Tuesday and will ask Dr. Cornell about the stitch. Pre-op I asked if I was going to have keep pulling the pump down post-op and was told no.
BTW My scrotum dimple and the stitch have disappeared 4 weeks post op.
