Finally today the LONG awaited many times cancelled by the doctors and deferred appointment to see about getting an implant.
Dick doc Bullock http://urology.wustl.edu/en/Faculty/BullockArnold was a MAJOR letdown. 12 hour wasted round trip. Nothing less than devastating again. doc was arrogant. Refused to answer questions, just talk over me getting louder in an arguing manner. Finally at the end he said I could ask 1 question.......only 1. His words again. Connie and I am sure he did not want to do the surgery. He told me since I have had 4 hernia repairs and robotic prostatectomy he will only do rigid rods or a 2 piece implant that will not deflate fully ( his words) will not expand in diameter and will only get hard. Then proceeded to tell me that the maximum life I could expect out of a 2 piece is 12 years so it probably would need replaced 3 times or more in my lifetime. He said the life of a 3 piece is 20+ but if I want a 3 piece go elsewhere because he will not put one in. Said he went 6 years straight and never put in a 3 piece. Told me whatever size dick you have when you come in the operating room is what you will have when you leave. he said i don't care if you want to keep a 210° towel on it till the time of surgery but don't show me a picture of your 10 1/4" dick in a pump and tell me you don't want to lose length or I won't do the surgery. He said i don't care if you had a 10 1/4" penis and when you show up in the operating room it is only 4". 4" will be what you have and it will be hard. Clearly NEVER reviewed my history from the questions he asked. Told me to call his secretary and have her set up an appointment for a "blinfolded" test feel off a 2 piece and 3 piece to see they were both hard. What the fuck. I am not interested in doing a fucking blind flod dick cylinder feel or at minimum another 5 hour dirve just to fell the fucking thing. I am familiar with a 3 piece. I have had them in my hand before. ( not in a dick). All I want is some of the ife I had back that included 1 HARD, 2 GIRTH, 3 LENGTH. If hard is all I get, with a shorter skinnier dick, then I do not see how going through this improves the quality of life. Connie said she was afraid I was going to cry and I did feel like for about 2 hours. The first time I ever felt suicidal was after the prostatectomy. This evening i was near that point for a second time. Good thing I was 4 hours from home or I would have probably done it. Trying hard to deal with yet another letdown. I figure it would cost me around $6ooo airfare, motel, taxi, etc plus a $5980 out of network fee plus 20% of the bill which is the second part of the out of network fee if Dr. Eid or Kaplin would do it. Based on the $30,000 price I was quoted, it would cost me $24,000 out of pocket and the insurance would pay $6000. If I had been able to get it done here before the end of the year my cost would have been $0. Last year could not get this done before the end of the year. This year I started setting up an appointment in August. Sept appointment was cancelled by the doc because he said insurance would not pay. Found out that was bullshit. Got an appointment with Dr. Bullock for October, that was postponed to dec 2nd, then postponed to today. I DO NOT KNOW how any of you get this done. He said the 3 piece would be a high risk surgery after 4 hernia repairs and a robotic prostatectomy and he would not do it. He said if I want a 3 piece, go find a surgeon that like to take risks. They NEVER told me that the robotic surgery could prevent me from having a 3 piece. Hernia repair 2 & 3 is what started this problem. I asked if the 3 piece could be done in conjunction with a hernia repair. He said no. hernia repair first by a general surgeon, then he would do a 2 piece. He said he will not work with another surgeon and any hernia repair keeps you from getting a 3 piece so even if both were done at the same time you still could not get a 3 piece. Sucks major.

Of course everyone is different, and I know nothing about hernias. That said, I, and others on this forum, have had prostetectomies and that has not been a hindrance to having a 3-piece inflatable installed. I had no mesh as part of the prostate removal process.

Have you contacted other more experienced surgeons?

Ali he is a full blown arsehole but then mate you already know that, it really pisses me off to see you treated like you were I know you have been through all sorts of shit but this is not at all acceptable. There has to be a surgeon out there that can appreciate what the fuck you have been through and offer a better option than what he has suggested. I don't know much about the surgeons or the insurance situations in you country but hopefully one of the brothers can offer a better direction to take but no matter what Don't give up! Come out fighting!

One thing I have learned over the years. Doctor's are replaceable. If I am paying the person serious money they can answer my questions or I will take my business elsewhere. I followed the link in your posting and saw that the doctor you saw is located in Saint Louis. I don't know how far you live from Saint Louis. There is a high volume implant surgeon in Nashville. I have heard many good things about him. You may want to give him a call.

Why spend money with a doctor that talks to you that way, doesn't keep his appointments, lies to you about why the appointment was rescheduled and won't answer questions?

The advantage of the high volume doctor is they have probably already worked on people with circumstances similar to yours.

I will be getting my implant on 1/8/2014. The doctor told me because of my robotic prostatectomy and umbilical hernia that he would have to bet a bit creative with where he places the reservoir that holds the saline solution. He told me that it was nothing that couldn't be overcome and that there were special shaped reservoirs to accommodate circumstances like mine.

We have a couple of urologists where I live that do implants. However they only do about a dozen a year. I drove almost 4 hours to see a doctor that does over 125 of them each year.

Nashville is about 5 hours way. Travelexpense and my secondary insurance that only covers emergency outside of Missouri but lot of other things here does not work in other states. Every year about August I finally get my deductible met and get the nerve up do this surgery which is permanent with no going back. Last year and this year have been the same situation. I have now had an appointments with 3 doctors at Washington University School of Medicine , many deferred appointments, many refusals to give an appointment. gone through all 15 of their urologists and 2 total quacks here Options in St. Louis and here are exhausted. The preacher told me I am better off that ass is not getting to touch me in the operating room. I feel like I have been waterboarded to the breaking point. By the time I got out of the doctors office yesterday I wanted to blow out my brains and I had no gun. felt like crying for 2 hours and again this morning. Finally have quit shaking. I have NEVER been beat down or depressed like this before. close after the prostatectomy but nothing like this. Dr. Eid was nice enough to contact me 5 years ago when I was upset about the way the prostatectomy turned out. That was before I even found out the rest the doctor never told me though a recover nurse told me it was the likely case because my surgery went much shorter than normal. I am going to try to contact him, Milan and see if there is a way to work things out. My wife told me the doc treated me like I was an 83 year old man without any remaining senses instead of a young and well educated man. She was so upset that she was up all night. I don't think she has had any sleep in 30 hours now. Hugs to everyone of you who have replied. Your thoughts lifted me. Find another doc asap

I have seen 2 quacks here. 1 had the nerve to say he does not treat men with HIV because they have to be gay and he dislikes gays. Gay has nothing to do with me having HIV and it is more likely it was an drug user selling blood to buy dope is where the tainted blood came from. The other one here was so strange you did not want to be in the room with him. 1 in St louis cancelled the appointment due to HIV, 13 others would not give me an appointment and now this. This appointment had been rescheduled 3 times since Sept. I have been trying. Out of state out of network docs based on the $30k the hospital wanted as a deposit for the surgery would cost me $24k that I cannot afford with the insurance picking up $6k. I have done spreadsheets on it trying to figure out how to make this happen. If Bullock would have not been arrogant and helpful my cost would have been $0. Insurance would have covered 100% as long as it was done before the first of Jan. With all these delays that can't happen now. After the first if he did his 2 piece short dick that does not expand and only gets hard bit it would cost me $3000 which I would have to make payments on. I do not know how you find a dick doc that is not crackers. Bullock is a Georgetown grad, 1 was a Harvard grad. Every doc except 3 were supposedly in the top of their field and all professors of urologic surgery.

Sorry brother to hear all the crap you been going through. I too had a radical prostatectomy, at the age of 49, and have an old hernia repair. I’m from Missouri and flew to Maryland to have my 3 piece implant. Insurance wouldn’t pay so I’m 20,000.00 out of pocket. I would give Dr. Andrew Kramer a call at the University Medical center. He is one of the top implant guys and maybe he can help.

Thanks Bubba. I have called so many docs now that I don't remember who I called. Perito is the only one who has returned my call and i wasn't home. I'll try to find my list and see if Kramer is one I had called. Seems like he was. Glad you could get a 3 piece. My wife told me tonight that if i can't get a 3 piece i should just give up. From what the doc in St louis had to say about what to expect about the 2 piece he would only use, she says it would be a waste of time, money and disappointment just like the doc said it would be. I'm not in this to see a doc make a payday replacing it over and over. I want a good dick the that works and then I want the next dick he does to be some other poor sap whose life turned to shit so he can have a better life too. She just told me to not even be thinking about the rods either. I don't see how I would be able to work with those damn things in the way anyway even though we were told to expect at least a half inch more likely an inch to an inch and 1/4 loss with the rods. Seems they undersize them to try to keep the from wearing through your glans. Last thing I want is to come in at the end of the day and see a rod sticking out the end of my dick. I wonder why the hell they say a 3 piece lasts 2 times as long as a 2 piece.
