I am getting my implant 3 weeks from today (1/8/2015). I am not worried about the surgery. I have complete confidence in the surgeon. He does over a 100 of them per year.
My questions are:
What should I do to get ready for the surgery?
What type of clothing should I wear when leaving the hospital?
What should I have available for the first couple of weeks after surgery?
Basically, are there any suggestions about what I can do to make the recovery as comfortable as possible.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
I am very excited about getting this done. 4-1/2 years of being limp is way too long.
Any Suggestions??

First off, congratulations. What a great way to start off the new year!
1. As with any surgery, prepare your body; good nutrition, sleep, etc.
2. Wear sweat pants. You'll be semi-inflated when you go home and packed with surgical dressing. (You won't be conspicuous with all the padding)
3. Have comfortable underwear ready. There's a lot of opinions out there on what's best. I found boxer-briefs ( a size larger than usual) to be the best.
When the bandages/packing comes off you're going to need some incontinence pads or underwear available for at least a few weeks.
Get lot's of books, movies, video games, or whatever for the inactivity of the first few days of recovery.
Good luck and listen to your doctor!

Advice that I too will follow, I'm having my implant done on Jan. 19th. 31 days, but whose counting?
age 80. Prostate removed (cancer) 20 years ago. ED resulted. 19+ years did nothing. Tried pills, vacuum pump (HATED IT), injections worked sometimes, but not dependable. Presently have a inflatable, worked the 1st year. Not working for me now.

I slept on the couch for about 5 weeks. I am a belly sleeper so I wedged myself into the couch on my back as best I could. Took about 6 weeks or so before I could sleep on my stomach.
You may want to have some of the pills that make you pee orange. They will take some of the sting out from having the catheter in.

Re: Any Suggestions??
I would definately talk to the Dr and discuss the infrapubic placement over the scrotal placement. With a drain installed. To collect all the inflammatory fluid. Ive had 2 scrotals and 1 infrapubic placement. Believe me the infrapubic was the best. No pain no swelling no purple or blue balls. I could sleep on my stomach on my back on my side and even on my head if I wanted too. Just my 2 cents. The scrotal takes too long to heal. I only took one pain pill with the infrapubic and really didnt need to take that. With the scrotal I had to get 4 refills of pain meds. And still hurt. For a long time. About 4 months.
