Welcome Brother it makes me so happy each time I see a new Brother join the ranks of ex ED men around the world!
My slogan is Fuck ED! And Brother you have just done your bit in doing just that, one less guy who has to suffer the humiliation of being denied his manhood. Well done Woody now you can truley live up to the name!
Just remember what happens now is just part of the process and very soon you will be at the next stage of the process but right after that is the prize that you have been waiting for! Shit Mate you are almost there ;)
Take care, very proud of you Brother!

woodturner wrote:It is official. I became Bionic yesterday at sometime between 12:00PM - 2:30 PM.
I woke up with most of my equipment completely wrapped up in bandages.
I was left completely inflated till the next day. The doctor then brought it down to about 40%. It will be like that for the next 6 weeks until I get activated.

The bandages were taken off this morning and it is not a pretty site. My scrotum is the size of a small grapefruit. I have been keeping plenty of ice on it.
However, I haven't seen the swelling go down yet. It is only the second day.

There isn't much pain other than a lot of discomfort walking around with a 24/7 Hard-on. It has been a long time since I had one of those. Even at 40% it would be useable.
I keep telling my wife how lucky she is.

I had this done by a Dr. Aaron Lentz at Duke Urology, Duke Hospital in Raleigh, NC. He does a lot of implants. This week he was scheduled for 6 of them (3 on Wed & 3 on Thur). He did 5, the 6th person had last minute insurance problems.

I have been treated in 3 different hospitals. Duke Hospital Raleigh, NC is a first class operation. The service was polite, thorough and very professional. I would easily give them 5 out of 5 stars.
Even the coffee in the cafeteria was exceptional.
I will keep you posted, especially about the swelling.

Welcome to the brotherhood. Wait 'til you see our secret handshake...

I'm glad you found a good place. There are some bad places out there but there are numerous good places as well.

I'm so happy to see you took the plunge and GOT IT DONE.

Hopefully your swelling goes down- I went to Baltimore, Maryland for mine- I actually had no swelling at all, though it was sore when I started pumping it up at 2-3 weeks or so, but never had one ounce of swelling. Make sure this goes down, just want to make sure you don't have an infection. Best of luck, you have nothing to worry about and everything to feel positive about now.

Congratulations, and welcome to the Bionic Brotherhood. This is the biggest Bionic Fraternity in the world. While your healing, jump in the chat room, there are Frat Brothers before you that can walk you through the healing period. I give out my phone number, as do others, for personal chats.
Don't use too much ice, you might get a "Sunburn" and peal. (ice burn).

The big hold up was getting insurance to pay for it. I have new insurance and they are going to cover it.
I have not written much of anything in Franktalk the last 4 years.
I would like to thank all of you that have written in, the things you have written have been a key element in helping me make an informed decision.

Hey woodturner, would you expound on the issues you had with the insurance companies? I am sure everyone, including myself would like to know what to expect.
