Semi-Rigid Implant Pictures Questions
Re: Semi-Rigid Implant Pictures Questions
Yes, at your young age you will for sure need a replacement or two (or more) no matter which implant you get.
I'm 75 and got an AMS Ultrex in 1995. Had it replaced in 1999. Got a new AMS 700 LGX in 2013.

Re: Semi-Rigid Implant Pictures Questions
Hi Seniors!
I really appreciate all of your support in helping me out.
I have two problems which I am facing right now :
1. If I Get an inflatable implant the odds that it will last for a period of greater than 5 years is very less.
2. If I get a malleable implant or a soft implant the odds are it will last longer however I Risk erosion.
Keeping the money factor aside let us look at it another way :
1. What happens when a malleable implant erodes? Can any senior guide me here?
Would getting another malleable implant solve the problem or erosion is more serious an issue than I'm considering it to be?
2. What about the SSDA Subrini Implant? I have ready studies on the internet claiming it preserves erectile tissue in patients which seems logical in a patient my age. If there is erectile tissue preservation it will lead to a response to oral medication as well. I don't mind that.
Which doctors in the world are offering such an implant? I read about the VIRILIS 1 and VIRILIS 2 and SHAH Penile Prosthesis. But
how to learn more about them? Do We have a member on board to guide us?
3. Can the seniors in this group guide me to talk to people with Malleable Implants? Like their names etc.
Somehow Over the web I have never been able to find pictures of people with Malleable Implants apart from just two people on erectionphotos.com
which is not sufficient for me to take a call.
Please note that there is nothing on youtube also from where i'm searching about how a malleable implant actually looks like.
There is a lot of lack on information on this LOW COST Malleable implant.
Now I'm not saying that expensive is necessarily better but I don't want to believe in Cheaper is worse either.
4. Finally , I seek your support guys on documenting photographs of Malleable/non malleable implants like the AMS 650 etc. on this forum.
One thing is for sure , the cost difference being so huge , my logic tells me , more people in the world are getting malleable implants than the inflatable implants. I'm not favoring the malleable but the lack on information on it makes me want to look at it more closely.
Regards and Thanks to all the seniors for their support.

Re: Semi-Rigid Implant Pictures Questions
Hey buddy!!
I'm also a young guy like you (31 years old) and have suffered from ED since I was about 21 for reasons unknown.. Most likely I have venous leakage!!
I decided I needed an implant after all other alternatives have failed.. I should have got my implant already but had to postpone it twice due to issues with my calendar.
Anyway, I'm getting a inflatable coloplast titan on March 30th. The Doctor mentioned it should last 8 to 12 years. There are guys in here that have reported their devices lasted more than 15 years.
I do not think the semi-rigid would last more than that..
Anyway, I don't live in the US and found this very old video from 1990 (recorded in Brazil) that demonstrates how a semi-rigid implant works.
I'm sure you will not understand a word that the doctor says but hopefully it will help you to understand how it works.. You can skip to minute 1:15 if you want.

Wish you all the best with your decision!!

I don't believe the above statement is "for sure" at all because the semi-rigid implant is old technology, VERY old. It's like comparing telephone dial-up modem to high speed wi-fi. I suspect most insurance companies in the U.S. that cover the procedure no longer cover the semi-rigid type. It is also my suspicion that few doctors implant men with a semi-rigid penile prosthesis today.

Re: Semi-Rigid Implant Pictures Questions
Hey! Thanks mate , this is the first time that I have actually seen a semi rigid implant in action.
Do we have any clue if this is a soft silicone implant or it is a malleable one?
Thanks for giving me a start here!
I wish you all the best of luck for your implant surgery on the 30th.
Do let us know how it goes and which doctor you are going to and where.
Meanwhile lets keep this thread going for more pictures of the semi rigid implant or videos of the same.
I'm sure this will help our other members too.
I would also like to request the forum members to contribute
If they can , real pictures , working videos of malleable implants.

Re: Semi-Rigid Implant Pictures Questions
Hello Sir , I respect your opinion. However my idea of starting this thread remains to garner as much photos / videos and most importantly real experiences from three kinds of people :
People who went in for an inflatable and then had to get a malleable one because of an infection Or other problems.
People who went in for a malleable one in the first place and then later to an inflatable.
People who got an SSDA implant ( haven't met any till now )
Uptil now I haven't been able to get any such experience accounts or information.
I request you to guide me in this regard sir and seek support from all seniors on this forum:

Hello Sir ,
Thanks for your review on the erosion topic.
How long have you had the implant ( The First One ) ?
Are there any other members on this forum who have a malleable implant or can guide
me at looking through photos/videos of a real malleable implant in action.
You Tube Links / Member Details / Anything will do at the moment.
Thanks Guys

Re: Semi-Rigid Implant Pictures Questions
I suspect the reason you're not getting any responses to your request for user pictures/comments is that few if any of us have opted for a semi-rigid because the inflatable is a much better solution.
