What private insurance companies cover implants?

Postby anotherguy » Mon Mar 16, 2015 12:58 pm

I live in Texas and have decided to get an implant done by an out of state doctor, Dr. Andrew Kramer. I don't have insurance through my job and will have to pay it all out of pocket or possibly get private insurance so that the cost will be lower for me. So my question is, what private health insurance will cover getting this procedure done?

I tried asking Blue Cross Blue Shield if they covered it, but they won't answer my question.

Thanks

Howdy there anotherguy, I live in the DFW area and found Dr Morey over in Dallas. Is there a reason you are going out of state?

No reason in particular, I just have the general feeling that he's the best surgeon for this procedure from what everything I've read, heard, seen, etc. What was your experience with Dr. Morey like? I've heard only good things about him as well though.

I haven't had the surgery yet, but he or his staff have been able to help me with all my questions. He accepts my Health insurance and seems to be an "AMS" Dr., I met with the AMS reps at my visit with Dr. Morey. I still kinda wanna check out the Titian, see if there is a difference with the pumps.

I used Morey also. Medicare primary and BCBS supplement, however I have heard BCBS will not cover in some plans as primary. Morey chose Titan for me and it was certainly not because I needed a large size (I have read where Titan is often a pick for those circumstances). I asked about AMS as it was my personal choice, but went with his recommendation. I am fine with Titan and liked Morey. I must really brag on his positioning of pump, as well as my recovery and needs. Z-L hospital was excellent.....food outstanding. PM me if questions. B
