I just this past week had an implant done, March 9 in San Antonio.
The doctor did a great job, he left it partial inflated, so if one would look, it looks like I have a thirteen year old erection all of the time. The reason for that, there ahould be less pain when I try to inflate it later to scaring tissue.
So to the men that have went down this road, what type of underwear do you like- briefs or boxers or I guess I could add, without?
SECOND - So far my journey is more discomforted then what I would call pain. From Tuesday until Friday I had a pain ball attached. It uses Marcain and delivers 0.5 ml/hr into the area where I had the surgery. I think that was good for we traveled for three or four hours on Friday before we removed the ball. Did any of you have this?
My doctor had an assistant, that I talked to before. I asked him how many he had done, 'about 12 or so, Still you doctor Dr. Jones has done thousands of them.' My wife, Carole Anne, then thought, but Dr. Jones is going to do Marvin's right?
I have what i would call a lot of puffness in what might be call the foreskin area.
OH BEN I JUST READ ON MY ICE PACK - NO LONGER THEN 20 MINUTES - SO ALL NIGHT WOULD BE LONGER THEN THAT.
I am going to be off work for three weeks, then see where the discomforted is and can I wear a pair of pants without a thirteen year old erection showing thought. I tried to wear a pair underwear briefs and that a mistake. Late last years I started a second job career as a chashier, after 30 plus year in the telecom field. As a cashier I stand the whole time and a few things are over my 10 pounds limit, cat litter, dog food and water.
So the next time you are standing in line, take you Blue thing out of your ear, put your cell phone in your pocket and asked the cashier how is your day? It just might be me and the pain and discomforte just reached that point. So smile at him or her, I hope you know the diffeance.
Take care
Marvin

Re: what type of underwear do you like- briefs or boxers
Marvin,
I am almost three months post penile implant. I have always worn briefs and and actually wear what are called rugged briefs by Fruit of the Loom. I found them at a Gander Mountain a couple of years ago. My post op experience was good after the first five days. I quickly became pain free after a week and returned to doing normal things. I am retired but do a lot of maintenance type of work for my church.
My implant was activated on February 10th. The PA warned me that for a while inflating will be painful and he was right. As he said you are stretching a lot of tissue and skin and it takes a while for it all to get used to it. When inflating all of my discomfort is located right at the tips of the implant. I have an AMS 700 LGX implant. For some reason most of my pain is on the right tip. Actually it is not the tip but just down from it. When I was shown the implant the tube tips have a seam where they are connected on to the tube lengths. It is at this seam where I am getting the discomfort. I have tried different numbers of pumps from 6/7 up to 18/19. As I pump more the pain does increase some but from about 10/11 pumps up to 18/19 it does not get much worse. Pumping is a lot harder then I thought it would be. Once you get the first 5 or 6 pumps in it takes a hard squeeze for the rest of the pumps.
The implant erection is different then the ones I had naturally and with injections. The tubes get real hard but there is no hardness around the uretha so the cross section of the erection is not a rounded triangle but more like two circles connected together. It takes some getting used to and I have not gotten there yet. It is better then injections.
Hope your recovery continues to go well.

I am 17 months post op and I can tell you it gets better quickly. At your 3 months check up you will still have some discomfort but still very usable for sex.
I found the Jockey Pouch Briefs to be a lot of help and support.
The best thing I found was pumping up the implant for at least 5 minutes twice a day. It is sore and hurts to start with but it should start to be getting better real soon. In the shower I have a hand held spray. I got the water as hot as I could stand it and let it run over my penis for several minutes. That seamed to help some also.
Another tip; take a couple of ibuprofen about 20-30 minutes before pumping up the implant that helps also. Do Not us Rx pain pills that kills the feeling in the glans.

Anyone still looking for underwear with your implant, consider Calvin Klein's hip brief...deeper pouch and fits/feels great.
