my implant was done 7/6 by dr. levine in chicago. hospital bill was listed as 55,000. my projected co-pay $216.
i was unsuccessful trying to pump using one hand, so by curiosity i used both thumbs to squeeze the pump and i can feel the movement of liquid to my scrotum. before i pumped too much, i tested the deflate valve and pressed the penis down at the same time. it worked like a charm. now i'm uncut and the penis got a little sensitive in either inflate or deflate position. but nothing i couldn't tolerate. i did not try for full 100% inflation, to see whether the penis would be at right angle to my body. i consider myself 5" or 12 cm, so based on first day pumped, i'm slightly longer than 5". i did use a penis extender based on the suggestion of my surgeon for over 3 months before my surgery. i also dabbled a little with a vacuum pump. there seem to be a slight improvement in my penis size but nothing to get excited over.
i'm glad i didn't lose any length, and maybe over time might gain a little more. before surgery my penis could shrink pretty small, so it's great that i'm almost 5" even without being pumped up. i feel very fortunate, that everything has gone very smoothly. i did have to leave the hospital with a catheter the first day and return 2 days later to have it removed. but it allowed me to just relax and sleep for 2 days without the need to go to the bathroom. of course i was warned that bowel movement would be absent for several days. the dr.'s assistant suggested prunes/prune juice along with a gel cap that was prescribed by the doctor as well. so around the 3rd-4th day, i slowly began to resume BM.
i also tested the plumbing, i can ejaculate as well. i will probably wait to get doctor's permission before attempting physical insertion. my guess is that it will probably be painful and i'll have to slowly develop a tolerance. but hopefully i can enjoy the benefits of hard erections again. i was diagnosed with venous leakage. pills did nothing and injections only partially improved the situation.

Re: self taught how to use pump/deflate valve
You are on the money. pain pumping for a while is normal. pain after 10 minutes inflated also normal. I inflate it for 30-40 minutes an just leave it. first time with intercourse I was sore after 15 minutes. I am building up to 30 minutes intercourse.

thanks for sharing your thoughts. to be conservative, i'll wait for the surgeon to give me the thumbs up before trying to insert my penis.
it's such a wild feeling when i pump and feel the saline move. definitely back in the toy store phase.
after 30 pumps it is definitely standing at 90 degrees now.
