Had a AMS 700 implant about a month ago and am scheduled for activation in a couple of weeks. What exactly does the doctor do to activate it? I can't find anything that specifically states what he does.

Re: Activation
The uro will pump it up for you to 100% and let you admire your penis and then deflate it completely. My uro gave me a keychain with a dummy pump on it so you can reference to and then sends you on your way. Take a pain pill before the appointment it will hurt

Thanks for the info. Dr Lentz at Duke Raleigh did mine and did a great job from what I have seen.
Re: Activation
6 wks, eh. Well, if that's what he told you to do, you should probably do it. That way, if anything goes wrong, you'll be able to say you followed the protocol. I'm 6 wks out tomorrow. I didn't wait, and I probably should have. I read on here guys talking about inflating after a week or so, so I went for it at week 3. Nearly killed me, pain was so bad. It really bruised me, scrotum and penis. So for the next several days I went back to ice packs 3 times a day. When it was a little less tender (over 4 wks) I started practicing again. It got easier. Important to know---the pump really does soften after a short while. Plus, you get the hang of manipulating without your fingers slipping and hurting your sac. I tried intercourse a week ago, but wasn't good. I couldn't pump up more than maybe 60%, and I had to quit after 6-7 min cause it hurt so bad. I've been increasing the pressure a bit every day and holding it til it starts to hurt. Today, I tried it again with my lady, pumped about 80-90%, and it wasn't great, cause I couldn't finish. But was better (11-12 min). I think the pain thing is gonna continue for quite a while, because I'll be constantly pushing harder for as much stretching as I need. Sorry to ramble on so much. Good luck.
Re: Activation
Doc specifically said to wait six weeks. Don't know if I am a special snowflake or not but in addition to two balls I also have a varicocele and an AUS 800 pump, so my sack runneth over so to speak. I don't understand why activation by the doctor is painful but few complain about pumping up after activation. Activation of my 800 was to squeeze the top of the pump as hard as possible which is totally different from using the pump bulb. I just wonder if the Doc is squeezing something other than the bulb on our implants. Those guys that were pumping up after a week must be real horn dogs. I waited 8 years so I can wait two more weeks.
