Has anyone experienced a cylinder poking the shaft side?

Postby DonBecker54 » Thu Feb 11, 2016 6:02 pm

I asked this before, but got no responses

One of the first things I noticed immediately after surgery was a very large bump on the right side of the shaft, just to the rear of the glans. I figured it was swelling. The area was very black and blue.

Over the next several days, the skin over that spot got very papery or parchment-like, to the point where it peeled off. Once it was off, I could see that it wasn't swollen. It was the right side cylinder poking out against the side. The cylinder tip wasn't going into the glans

By the time the two-week checkup rolled around, the cylinder seemed to have righted itself, and I figured all was well.

In the last week or so, it's again poking against the right side of the shaft, and is not seated in the glans.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Short answer: No

I repeat again what my doc (Dr. Eid) told me about bulges, kinks, tips in cylinders, over- and undersizing:

A perfect result means that:
When deflated there are kinks, bulges. Cylinders go well into the glans and can be felt with the fingers. They sit of course at the same depth in to the glans.
When inflated there are no kinks, bulges since they straighten when inflated. Cylinders still sit high up in the glans.

Signs of oversizing is: Kinks, bulges when inflated and cylinder tips pushing all the way to the skin of the glans of the tip.
Signs of undersizing: No kinks when deflated. Cylinders not reaching well into the glans. Glans 'loose' and can be pulled from the shaft when inflated.

Regarding your moving cylinders, as in they are sometimes sitting high up in the glans and sometimes not - I have not experienced this.
My cylinder tips have been fixed at the exact same spot from the first day.
I would guess (and I am guessing since I am no doctor) that it is a bad sign and a risk. I suppose the cylidners should be fixed from scar tissue forming around them. If they are moving around, I guess there is a risk they will settle down and get fixed in different and wrong positions.

What type of implant do you have?

As always, talk to your doctor about your concerns.

I have a Titan.

I'd talk to my doctor, but I can't get in to see him for a month and a half. I've left messages all week with his nurse to ask him, but she's never called back.

Correction. The cylinder is going into the glans. There's just a big bump inside about a 1/2" back from the glans. I can't figure out what's pushing the cylinder out. It's sore, and has been since day 1.

I cannot understand how your doctor is not reachable.
Who is it?
People thinking of an implant should know so they can pick a better one.

Dr. Milam.

Just doing some reading on this, it looks like the worst case scenario would be an aneurism of the cylinder, which would require replacement. I hope it's not anything like that.
