The surgeons at Mayo in Minnesota are NOT allowed to receive kick-backs for the use of products.
You end up with the implant that they feel is best for your situation. In my case I am very happy with the outcome.
I do not know about the volume of surgeries that they do but I was not concerned with that.
There are surgeons that do a good job without being called 'high volume'.

But doctors are often flown to fancy resorts in Honolulu, Las Vegas, the Virgin Islands, etc., for "training" or "informational meetings" by companies that want the doctors to use their products. Also, doctors are often "paid consultants" who publish research articles that are often favorable to the company paying them.

Of the lot, I think it is highly likely that some of them do get paid to show doctors their method of surgery. Some I think are just nursing the tit and when they do travel it is a deductible expense.

Interesting information.
Could definitely explain why Perito openly says he thinks AMS should be discontinued.
And could explain why Eid is a heavy Coloplast user/promoter.
Could also confirm the switch Kramer has made from Titan-fan to AMS-fan.

Or it could also be these guys really do believe one brand is superior, start use it more frequently and in the process hook up with the brand.

I still say that no matter which brand is 'better', the difference is probably small enough to make it negligible in the bigger scheme of things.
I think the brand falls flat in competition with:
* Choosing a skilled surgeon
* The surgeon not having a poor day in the office at time of surgery
* Not having bad luck to receive the odd device doomed to shorter life time due to random variations in the manufacturing process
* Surgeon choosing right brand, size, setup, insertion method etc based on any patient specific pre-conditions
* Patient following the pre- and post-op protocols
* Having a good portion of luck (or rather not being the one with bad luck)
* Having the right expectations

All of them will have a larger impact on patient satisfaction than having AMS or Coloplast in the dick I believe.

I would also add, plan ahead for your implant. take care of matters so you do not have to deal during healing, relax. Do not get stressed before or during healing. Once a person relaxes. healing improves at a faster pace. Make good choices before surgery, choices of people you can trust and DON'T STRESS.

I agree thanks for sharing this site alibaba. Also reassuring to know I didn't show up on the list since I haven't intentionally accepted any money from pharma. Good info to have to at least start a conversation with your doc if they are promoting one drug or implant over another. Some of these are likely around participation in running a study so not payoffs but worthy of questions if you are feeling pushed.
