Rick, still praying for you. I know in my heart it will happen for you one day.You keep getting closer step by step. Some here seem to fail to understand that getting an implant is not as simple as sign a form, write a check, walk out implanted, all is well, for some of us. Best of luck and keep us posted. 20 years ago I was all prepped up for Back Surgery. I had the sleepy stuff being pumped in and was feeling groggy but noticed everyone had been wheeled to their surgery except me! Then in came a lady to tell me that my Dr had started an emergency aneurysm. Expected length of surgery would be 11+ hours. Did I want to wait until he had finished, or come back tomorrow?
Luckily I was alert enough to tell her I would now go home(with a stop for breakfast at IHOP first) !!
YES the next day surgery was very successful !
btw, after my recent implant surgery I was in the recovery area for close to 7 hours with the story that no room was available! I was uncomfortable and hungry. As soon as shift change happened at 7pm, amazingly a room became available - Next morning my Uro was very upset. Interestingly I never did get a 'survey' from the hospital since I've been home, all I got was a receipt showing that Medicare had paid them $85k....

I see Dr. Eid on 4/7. I fly out at 5:30 am, get to NYC at 11:00 am, see him at 1pm, and have to be back at La Guardia at 4 pm to fly out.

Got a call from Vanderbilt tonight. Dr Milam wants me to see him and his nurse on Tuesday. Should be interesting.

Milam's messed up office could call me every day for a year and I would never go back. They burned down that bridge the day before,the day of and the day after surgery. Hope things go well for you.

Well- I'll comment because I know one statement to be personally false- and I honestly never post things here just to "prop up" the guy who did my implant (Kramer) but in this case I have to defend him. A member named rglassva is saying he might have "rushed" through his procedure or somehow gave up up on him. I just know that isn't true, the day I was there Dr. Kramer had a long procedure after mine that took 4 hours, the last guy didn't start until 8pm. The other patient (my roommate the night) waited around but was certain he'd get cancelled, but he wasn't- Kramer just hung around, said hello and I'm sorry, and started after 8. The last thing was evidently Dr. Kramer's father was admitted to the hospital after falling down at home the day me and 4 other guys had surgery, and the nurses told me he never considered leaving- his only focus was finishing his implants and dealing with his personal life later. I emailed him a few days later to ask about his father, and I never heard back, hope he's OK. Anyway, him not caring about someone or speeding through the day just didn't sit right.

But what you experienced might not be what happened to someone else. It's entirely possible that what this other member reported is exactly what happened, whether the accusation sits right with someone else or not..
