I was talking with my urologist about the possibility of receiving and implant. Currently using trimix, but i get scarring and swelling and discomfort.
He told me that "it won't be the same" as far as sensation and sensitivity are concerned.
Would like to get some feedback on what your experience was pre and post-op....preferably from those of you who were able to function on some level just previous to the procedure with trimix, viagra etc.
Thanks!
Loss of sensatiion with implant
Re: Loss of sensatiion with implant
My sensation came back fully after proper healing time. I wouldn't trust a uro who makes that comment. Go with one of the best.
Re: Loss of sensatiion with implant
I do have somewhat reduced sensation in my penis.. I had 2 implants in 366 days. While I do have somewhat reduced sensation in my penis, the sex is wonderful and my orgasms are tremendous. Select your surgeon carefully. My first surgeon botched the job terribly, making necessary a revision by a different and much better surgeon (thank you Dr. Perito). Much less pain and a much quicker recovery the second time. I am absolutely thrilled with my Titan! Good luck!!!

Re: Loss of sensatiion with implant
Had my Implant Sept 29th 2015 and it works well, regained size I lost after prostatectomy but I have lost some sensation since the implant. I don't know if the loss of sensation is due to the implant or the prostate surgery. I'm happy that it works but wish it was more sensitive
Re: Loss of sensatiion with implant
The urologist that told you that, does He do implants also?
My urologist told me I would regret it.
Never really told me why. He does not do implants but he does try to sell me Tri-mix.
Even after I told him it does not work.
Thinking it is the money that is controlling thier decisions.

Re: Loss of sensatiion with implant
No change in sensation though easier to have an orgasm I think since I am not concerned about erection lasting.
66 year old with ED intermittently for years and consistently for the 2 years before implant. Tried everything. AMS CX 21cm+1 cm RTEs Dr Kramer 4/29/2015.
Revision 5/3/2021 AMS CX 700 21cm+2 cm RTEs.
Revision 2022 Titan XL 24 cm no RTEs.

Re: Loss of sensatiion with implant
Yes, I have reduced sensation after implant surgery, it has been 7 months and I think that some has returned but it still a struggle to reach orgasm and then they are weak. Nothing like the orgasms before implant surgery or before prostate surgery. But way better than no orgasm. This is not what I expected but is better than no sex and no orgasm, I wish that something could be done to fix that.
born 1949, Cancer 2014, 1st Implant AMS CX 18 + 3 RTE, Oct 2015 by a Houston Doctor. Left with loss of length, Floppy Glans and pain, a very poor job. Revision in Dec 2016 by Dr. Kramer, 21 + 3 1/2 RTEs, LGX, Regained length, Glans supported and no pain.
Re: Loss of sensatiion with implant
I am only 100+ days out. I've been told it can take 2 years for the sensation to come back but that is the same bullshit they kept telling me about my erections after the prostatectomy, then the hospital accidentally spilled the pot and gave me a copy of my pathology report where two sets of specimens were labeled the nerves removed.
Had sensitivity in penis and glans prior to the implant but both are numb now. I can pinch the hell out of either one and not feel it. There is one little patch about the size of a dime on the bottom of the penis under the glans where the frenulum would be if uncut that is sensitive. That's it.
Scrotum was very sensitive in the past but now not so much.

LGX 21cm .Milam 01/13/16. Horror; both service and surgical outcome. hated infrapubic installation. Kramer revision 03/01/17. 22cm Titan +1.5cm extender. Those who think their opinion is the only one that matters are a danger to themselves and others.

Trimix is a pain in the dick. Hit and miss; always searching for the right formula and the bleeding and bruising after an injection is something that they do not tell you about.

Re: Loss of sensatiion with implant
Two months after implant and no problem with sensation. In fact, the penis head is more sensitive than before. No problem to ejuclate during intercourse or masturbation. After reading some comments here about not being able to ejuclate after implant, that was the first thing I wanted to test after inflating and there was no problem.
You will appreciate having an erection again and go to one of the top surgeons. I chose Dr. Kramer but there are a few others. I still have blood flow to head and shaft along with a partial morning erection.
Major change from before

Implanted March 2nd by Dr. Kramer with AMS/LGX. Had a problem lower left (scar tissue) and he placed a larger (thicker) implant as you can here on the YouTube video. Got all back, ED over 10 years before Implant.
