Titan DONE
Titan DONE
I'd like some Input I had my surgery done Friday. I was left partially inflated. I'd have NO pain if it weren't for a sharp shooting one on the left side which only occurs when I sit or cough. The pain subsides after I sit for a Minute. I'm thinking if I deflate a little that may help I guess I'll send the doc a note. I really thought the pain would be much worse I haven't any pain meds since I left Miami Saturday. It sure looks like this will be the ticket.
Re: Titan DONE
Congrats!!!!! Don't worry about inflation/deflation. Prob swelling anyway. Rest, heal..... Then go have fun!!!!!

Re: Titan DONE
Sounds normal, nothing to worry about. Congrats on your procedure.
Re: Titan DONE
And do you want to risk having problems later because you deflated soon enough? I wouldn't do it.
Re: Titan DONE
Listen to PFracture. There's a reason the implant is left partially inflated. Mainly to allow the tubes to keep the cavity open during healing. Leave it alone.

Re: Titan DONE
First, congratulations on your new Titan Touch Implant!
Your recovery seems perfectly normal.
Just follow the Doc's instructions and you should be fine.
I was implanted with the Titan in December 2007 and have been a Coloplast Patient Educator for the past 8 years.
My wife and I have been fully enjoying my Titan Implant for the past 8 years and counting.
Best of Luck.

Re: Titan DONE
I wouldn't touch it. My understanding is that it is left partially inflated so scar tissue won't form and prevent you from fully inflating later on.
Based upon what I have read and my own experience it sounds like your doctor took a fairly standard approach.
I strongly recommend patience.

Re: Titan DONE
So how active were you guys a week after? My only pain is one on the left side the doctor said it was the reservoir. I'd sure like that to go away soon.
Re: Titan DONE
Not very active. I was stuck with a catheter for a week and then pretty wiped out for another week after. After that I slowly came back to normal. I have read that my recovery was slower than most.
