Implant Surgery 4/12/2010

Postby Berie2 » Wed Apr 14, 2010 10:45 am

I just had a penile implant inserted on Monday 4/12/2010. So far so good. Dr. Cercone from Pittsburgh did the surgery and he was great. The incision was done vertically above the pubic bone. Surgery started at 1:15 p.m. lasted 1 1/2 hours and I was out of receovery by 6:00 p.m.. By midnight I was walking the halls of the hospital in order to give my wife sleep time. I was able to pee and leave the hospital at 9:00 a.m. the next morning. I am surprised by the overall pain. The tip of my penis is sore and where the pump is. Otherwise everything is going well. I can't wait to try out the pump. I have a follow-up appointment in two weeks. It has been 3 1/2 years since I have had an erection. I am hoping to post in the not do distant future that I should have done this 2 years ago. I am 52 and a diabetic. Bernie

Going on my 11th day post op. The swelling of my scotum has finally started shrinking. Still have pain where the pump is. I was able to start working out 4 days after surgery on the treadmill and light weights 7 days after. I have a doctors appointmnet 4/29. Can't wait to pump it up. Bernie

Hi

I had a few questions about your status. The doctor said you could workout 4 days after surgery?! Weights after a week?! I went through implant surgery in September and could not drive for 2 weeks and no physical activity for 6-7 weeks! My post op was 6 weeks after surgery and I was taught how to inflate it then.

Hope everything is going well for you. I was just so shocked to see the lack of recovery time.

I have an AMS 700 CX and can pupm it up. The tips of the implant are a little short of the head of the penis. It is painfull. The problem I am having is not being able to deflate it. I know these is a nipple on the square part of the pump however I can't feel it. The doctor showed my wife and unfortunately doesn't have the strength to do it. I didn't think to have the doctor show me because I thought it was easy.
If there is anyone out there that may have some tips on how to do this I would appreciate it. Otherwise I will have a make a 4 hour round trip to my doctor the have him show me.
We did try it over the weekend and it was okay. I can't wait until all the sweeling and pain is gone. The incision looks great.
Thanks, Bernie
