Like I said, the catheter was the most unpleasant part of my first week of recovery, but that's because I had no swelling like many guys do. My doctor knows how to operate without inducing hematoma.

Even at that, the catheter didn't so much hurt. It was just unpleasant and felt like I had to pee all the time. Take the pain meds the first day and you'll do fine. The next morning if you are taking out your own catheter, get in the bathtub, empty the balloon and just pull it right out. That didn't hurt and brought a sense of relief.

Urination was slightly painful at first, but not bad and got back to normal before long.

62 years old. ED for years. High BP and meds have done me in. AMS 700 CX /3.0 cm RTE Implanted by Andrew Kramer on 10/12/16. Involved revision to relocate tubes and pump performed 12/29/16 by Dr. Knoll of Nashville, TN.
