End of the road - big decisio made

Postby Toonarmy » Fri Nov 25, 2016 12:33 pm

Hi, thought i would let people know I have made the decision to have my implant removed, been to see my GP today who is doing a referral letter to the specialist as it was all done on the NHS. I have never been able to mentally accept the implant and I wasnt impressed with it at all, low erection angle and I developed chronic pre cum and PE since having it fitted, it has been a complete waste of time, I guess I was just unlucky. The removal operation is quick thank god so I guess its just a case of going through the process now.

I strongly suggest consulting a top implant surgeon or two before going through with it.

It is possible a revision could make you happy with it. Simply having it removed rules out sex for life!

It may rule out coitus, but cunnilingus is still available. Fellatio may still be possible as well as assistance by Vacuum Erection Device.

Where there's will, there's a way.

Good luck, Toonarmy.

edit: don't forget hands and "toys". Don't short-change the value of cuddling. Mentioning these might seem like preaching to the choir, but sometimes we forget the importance of the peripherals when we focus on the sex.

This was a bit hard for me. When ED struck, my wife humored me through pills, which worked for years, then injections, which didn't work at all, then Muse, which also didn't work, then VED, which we both hated. She always enjoyed intercourse in the moment, but she did not care for any of the peripherals - no cuddling, caressing, toys, and certainly no oral (and never any discussion about any of it). Before my own desire faded to zip, I mentioned counseling but she would have no part of it. This is how she is wired, so our options were limited. Sometimes the end of the road is the end of the road.

Sorry it has gotten to this stage for you. There was a period of 2-3 months when I wished mine out too if it was not going to be any better than this. If I could have cut it out myself without making a mess I likely would have. I have finally learned to live with it till I can have it replaced and hopefully improved on by someone competent. Getting an implant is a hard hard decision knowing there is no going back. If I could go back pre implant, as frustrating as it was, I would. There is hope being Mr. merrix and Pockie had such great outcomes but both of these were young men. Makes me wonder sometimes if youth has a play in the installation process also. Keep in mind that is is very very likely should it be removed and stay removed for a period of time that your penis will likely fill with scar tissue and shrink considerably making an new implant possibly impossible. I know it is near impossible to think ahead to any outcome at any stage as there seems to be no guarantee nor any standard level of care so please approach this carefully. We care. Do do not let frustration overrule intelligent thought. Cheers and best wishes.
LGX 21cm .Milam 01/13/16. Horror; both service and surgical outcome. hated infrapubic installation. Kramer revision 03/01/17. 22cm Titan +1.5cm extender. Those who think their opinion is the only one that matters are a danger to themselves and others.

I don't believe it has anything to do with age, I received my implant a year ago - then I was 65. The outcome is excellent, couldn't be better. It only has something to do with the surgeon, that's my firm believe. I'm living in South Africa, for the surgery I flew to Germany where I was operated by one of the most experienced surgeons. Coloplast had told me that no other German doctor does more implants than him. Merrix travelled from Scandinavia to the US.

For us it was quite an effort (journey-wise) to get the operation done by one of the 'experts'. Of course also with them something can go wrong but the rate of success is very high. Unfortunately some of you didn't go to one of the leading surgeons because it was very convenient to go to a nearer one...

Toonarmy,
So sorry to hear this. :( I would be devastated if I had to remove mine. This implant has changed me, body, mind, soul and attitude forever. Try using a VED as there should be erectile tissue. My brother's implant failed but he can use a VED successfully. :) Take care brother.
