need advice about recovery

Postby ams_bionic.2011 » Sat Sep 24, 2011 12:41 pm

i recently had a implant done on Sept.13th,2011 i got the AMS 700 MS 3 peice unit. What i would like to know is if it's normal for the tube or tubes going to the pump itself to say ride up to the surface along my penis this is along the top and right side of my penis at the base and it's trying to ride up along it.It is very painful and i feel irratated inside as well.TY for any advice.

ams-bionic

I have enjoyed the AMS700LGX for a year now. And yes, two tubes leading from the penis tubes form a small loop that pushes the skin of the scrotum up. The contour is visible, and I must be careful not to irritate this sensitive area. My opinion is that the tubes were too long, but perhaps the tubes cannot be cut. I would prefer no contour but this really is a minor aspect to a wholly successful implant. I know that your recovery will go well. If you have any questions, private message me and I'll do my best to be helpful. ariadne

Hello ams bionic. YES, what you describe is exactly how I am set up. My doctor explained that this was the easiest way to put the saline bag into my abdominal cavity. I was extremely upset for quite a while as it really hurt. But after about 6 months it finally calmed down and just became a part of the whole package. I think that my healing period was a bit longer than others on here and you are the first person that I've heard describe what happened with me. Feel free to write and discuss it with me and I can then give you my personal email address to make it easier. I feel for ya! I know what you're going through. On top of that, the square part of the MS pump was riding against the base of my penis so "using the implant" was very painful at first. It HAS all settled down now so take heart in knowing that it will be ok in the long run. LGX_Man

I would not worry too much about the way things are currently, unless the pump rides up too far. You are not even 2 weeks post surgery, so things are going to continue to change over the next 10 weeks. For example my pump started to scar into the side of my scrotum and i was very concerned about it. I put many calls into my doctor about questions that were happening but eventually everything cleared away with the healing process. You will go through bruising, swelling, numbing, scarring, breakage of scar tissue all in the next 10 weeks. For me it seemed to be a new theme each week. First I was dealing with swelling. Then it was scarring, then the swelling went down, then numbing, then the numbing went away...and about 13 weeks after surgery I was ready for usage.

well guys i had my 2 week follow up visit it went so so to me but the Dr was well satisfied with my progress said i was healing great compared to what he was expecting, told me to start pulling the pump down into my strotem to help it settle down and into place and to tape my penis upward.Told me i had a lot of erosion which made it very difficult for him to dialate me more so on my left side he thinks it was due to my diabeties and would probably be another 4 weeks before the burning sensation would leave so i could walk n sit properly and a total of 6 months for total healing my next appt. is in 4 weeks if i don't have any problems
