Hello All,
I had a prostalectomy approx. 1 year ago which left me and am now I am 12 weeks post penile implant surgery (AMS 700 LGX), I have tried inflating a couple times with just a couple squeezes of the pump and the pain is overwelming and last for days afterwords of which I can't even bear wearing pants, it is completely unusable due to the pain, my doctor doesn't seem to know what the problem is but I am getting very nervous that I have made a big mistake in having this surgery. I'm hoping someone on here has some information good or bad as I am unsure on where to go for help, I just turned 50 years old and I'm very worried about any future sex life.
12 weeks post implant PAIN
Re: 12 weeks post implant PAIN
Please describe this "pain". Where? intensity? stinging? aching? what?
When I first recieved my implant I had the WORST stretching pain in the shaft that it was terrible to work into. I had to try and inflat 3 times a day and could only get to about 30% before I couldnt take it anymore and had to deflate. This was 12 weeks out too! I thought by then I would be using it but after the healing stage, my body had to become used to this balloon blowing my penis up. If its anything like this i would say take it slow and dont inflate too much. little bits at a time until you get to 100%. Also use advil or a pain killer prior to inflating if needed. This was what I did that worked for ME. not saying this is what it is but i COULD be. We need more details.

Re: 12 weeks post implant PAIN
Thanks you for your reply, the "pain" sometime's it feels like it's throbbing but mostly it just aches constantly and very intense pain in the entire shaft and head, much more painful then the surgery or the recovery. Very little pain as long as I don't try to inflate, I could handle it if the pain went away once I deflated it but it doesn't, the pain stays for a couple of day after and it's very hard to work and do the things I need to do, I have searched the net trying to find out if anyone else experienced this but you are the first one I've talked to with similarities. Not sure what to do.

When you inflate the titan, how full are you going?

Re: 12 weeks post implant PAIN
It could be some scar tissue forming around the cylinders, however that is just a guess. What I think we all have experienced post implant is some pain on inflation but not like what you describe. The only thing I can think of is start over with the "break-in" by just doing one squeeze or however many squeezes you can do without it hurting like that. If you can find that inflation that doesn't hurt too bad, then do it 3 or 4 times a day for say 15 minutes or so and try to build up from there. It doern't look like your doc has any answers so it will be up to you to get this thing working. the fact that you don't have pain all the time may mean that thing are ok with the inplant and just some careful slow stretching is needed.

Re: 12 weeks post implant PAIN
Agreed with Ron. Scar tissue typically doesnt cause pain though? At least no scar tissue i have ever had (from implant, face from hockey injuries, etc.) causes pain. And typically with the implant it breaks away after repeated usage.

It's actually an LGX, not much at all, maybe 2-3 pumps before the pain hits hard, not sure about the percentage.

It's been 4 days now of pain and it's finally starting to diminish to where I may try to pump again, it just seems strange to me that I read on here that so many people are actually using theres after 6-8 weeks and I'm here at 12+ and at this point there is no way I could use it. I'm going to try your suggestion very slowly but what I'm really concerned about is the pain that doesn't go away after deflation.

Re: 12 weeks post implant PAIN
Rich. Perhaps I'm confused but did you actually wait until 12 weeks to start inflating your implant? Your doctor should have started you inflating at 6 weeks or earlier. My doctor had me inflating my LGX at 10 days post-op. If you waited til 12 weeks my guess is that you've got quite a bit of scar tissue build-up. The reason that the docs have us start using it earlier is so that we can "work it" and keep it going while the scar tissue is forming all around the implant and all area that were touched by the surgery. This is of UTMOST importance. My implant was pretty much surrounded with scar tissue at 3 months post-op. Suggestion, grin and bear the pain but get that thing going post-haste. If not, you will not be able to use it. That old saying "use it or lose it" may just be what might happen here if you don't use it soon. If you're having trouble pumping it and need the "double-handed inflation" instructions, please write back and give me your email address so that I can send it along to you. Best of luck. Re: 12 weeks post implant PAIN
Good point Keith. I was not inflating until week 10ish but my implant was at about 40% the entire process. for the first 6ish weeks, was your implant partially inflated?
