keeping the penis taped straight up....
keeping the penis taped straight up....
Is there any benefit to keeping it taped up beyond 6 weeks? Just curious as to what other people's doctors may have said......... Also, what is the purpose of taping it up anyway?

dmikesaw,
I really can not answer your question. I am in a little bit different boat since
I recieved the malleable implants. I had no tape at all not even bandaids. I did have two small incisions just below the head. I can clearly feel the tips of the implants in the head. My doctor did tell me after the first checkup that I could go ahead and bend it whenever I felt like it.
I did bend it that day with no pain at all. That was 6 days post op. Since my stitches
were in the penis itself they were very sensitive to the touch for about three weeks. Infact I will be five weeks post op tomorrow and my dear wife can still cause them to feel tender to the touch. Having said that I can handle her tender touch very well. (Pun intended)
I would think your question is very valid and is one that should be addressed to your doctor. I would think his answer would be very interesting to hear.
Continued best wishes to you.

Re: keeping the penis taped straight up....
I doubt that there is any real benifit beyond the initial healing of the first several weeks. At this point cycling it to keep the cylinders and resevoir from being resticted by scar tissue in my mind would be the only thing to worry about. Get some nice suportive briefs, like the jockey brand "pouch" brief with "H" closure. These were recomended by other menbers here and they are my standard now. I hope if you have not "used" it yet, you soon will.

Lots of questions. I hope that you can give it some time to heal and keep on inflating at least twice a day. The LGX should eventually grow into the head the more you work it.

62. Retired. AMS 700 LGX implanted Nov. 18, 2013. Ask me any questions about being implanted or life afterwards.
Re: keeping the penis taped straight up....
Yes there is a benefit. Keeps the implant from twisting or shifting alot while its healing and settling into place.

Thanks, yes, I have asked him most of these questions. It's just that I like to know what other's doctors have told them. Why limit yourself to what one doctor thinks?
