Well. I did it. I made the appointment

Postby Tenk11 » Thu Mar 30, 2017 9:03 pm

After years of looking into implants, I finally have a surgery date set - June 1st. I'm excited and nervous. Nervous about the recovery pain mostly, but I'm also looking forward to a week or two off work. I'm sure i may not think the same at the time.

I just wanted to let the bionic brothers know I'm on my way to joining the crew.
36 years old. Coloplast Titan OTR implanted on 6/1/2017 infrapubically. 20 cm cylinders (no rear tip extenders) with a 125 ml reservoir. So far so good!

Which doctor?
Implanted by Dr. Andrew Kramer 2/22/17. 18 cm AMS LGX with 2 cm RTE's (total 20cm).

Activated 3/11/17. Best decision I've ever made.

Welcome! You will not be disappointed. Pay no attention to the initial time. My philosophy was to go for it and receive the pain when it was too late to change my mind.

No matter what set of emotions and physical manifestations you will experience initially, you will be extremely happy that you made the decision. I could tell you stories . . .

Pain is an individualized event. Some have more than others. Some shut it out or do not have much. In the total realm of your life and the life of the implant, the period of pain is a small percentage though. Kind of like standing in line to get a movie ticket. If you don't do it, you miss the performance. Best of luck to you. I know making up your mind to make the appointment is sometimes a harder step than the surgery. Cheers man, it is coming before you know it. Hot weather and air condition time.
LGX 21cm .Milam 01/13/16. Horror; both service and surgical outcome. hated infrapubic installation. Kramer revision 03/01/17. 22cm Titan +1.5cm extender. Those who think their opinion is the only one that matters are a danger to themselves and others.

Congrats and good luck! I am 4 days out after my surgery and yes there is pain involved but all manageable. Welcome to the brotherhood and keep researching information. This board helped me tremendously in not just information, but in making the decision to get the appointment made. I am documenting my post surgery experience as others have here so hopefully you will find it helpful.

Good luck!

His name is Dr. Roseman, in Richmond, VA. He's not famous or anything, but he's said all the right things on implants, and does them at the hospital I'm going to and the VA. On a personal note, he is the only doctor that has actually manage to treat/fix my urethral stricture(unfortunately I'm no stranger to penis/scrotum surgeries) in 20 years, so I'm a fan. Good person too.
