Your Experience With A Two Piece Implant

Postby PocketRocket » Wed Apr 19, 2017 2:30 pm

I have had a lot of abdominal surgery. For this reason it has been suggested that I might consider a two-piece implant (rather than a three piece). I need some input from you bionic brothers who have a two-piece and are in the operations phase - That is, you are beyond the test phases and using it for intercourse.

(1) Does it get good and hard?
(2) Is the length and girth satisfactory?

Any light you can shed on this for me would be greatly appreciated

Thanks,

Pocket

Absent first-hand testimony, here is a little of what I have read on performance of the 2 piece devices.

Since the reservoir is necessarily limited in volume, inflation volume is limited. This shows up most glaringly in limited girth expansion and a little bit in rigidity.

2 piece implants are best reserved fot patients, such as you, who have had such abdominal surgeries as prevent implantation of a reservoir or the tubing to connect it.

Hey Pocket,

I may have already written this elsewhere, but I have had an LRP, two inguinal hernia repairs, and 35 radiation treatments. Dr, Kramer was able to get the reservoir in me, he said it was difficult, but was successful. Whatever surgeon you choose, I would think that you would want them to try to place the reservoir first using a nasal scapula, then, if that wad unsuccessful go to the two piece. WHen a scrotal approach is used there would be no harm done in trying.

I should add that I am thin which adds to the difficulty. I am 4 weeks out, and I have no pain or issues with the reservoir.

you should go to an expert implant surgeon for a second opinion. There is a big difference between the two piece and the three piece. There are advanced methods to place "an ectopic position" of the reservoir.

I agree with the above poster to seek out another opinion.

I am two +years out. when I had my implant there was a concern because of two previous hernia surgeries with mesh support. However my surgeon did not hesitate. He only mentioned that he would have to locate the reservoir in a slightly different location and that would require an extra incision.
My implant works well and I have no complaints. Before getting your surgery I would, as has been suggested, seek a second opinion.
Best of luck to you.
