Loss of length and sensitivity
Loss of length and sensitivity
Hi there everyone! I am new here and have just started reading this forum and boy am I pissed I didn't find this place BEFORE my procedure. I am 45 and 8 weeks post-op and have suffered significant loss of lenght in the 4 inch range. Reading some of the other posts here, I see that this is far beyond what the "norm" seems to be and I am concerned to say the least and my wife is simply in disbelief. I talked with my dr prior to the procedure and he insured me that there would be no big loss in length but...I will be discussing this with him on my next visit. I am also wondering about the sensitivity. I am still experiencing a fairly significant loss of sensation and am wondering if anyone else can tell me when that might start to dissipate. Thanks all for this forum and the info shared and put out there for us "bionic" men!!
Re: Loss of length and sensitivity
Sorry guys! I have an AMS implant but have to check the pamphlet that I was given for the model number. Will check that tonight when I get home from work!!
Re: Loss of length and sensitivity
I am sure that all men are different when it comes to sensitivity but for me at least the implant took away alot of the sensitivity to warmth of a women. Now I rely on the movement/motion instead of the warmth. It just never seemed to come back and I have had my implant since sept. 2009. I found that i had to re-learn what felt good and what didnt now that I could have an erection with the implant.

Re: Loss of length and sensitivity
At eight weeks post op, I was still very much experiencing a loss of what I was used to for sensation. Now at just about 10 months out, I have 1) regained a good deal of the sensation I was used to, especially in the glans, and 2) very much appreciate the 'new' sensations that I have learned to understand that mitigate that which I still have not regained. The most noticeable loss that has not yet returned is general sensitivity in the shaft.
While you may yet have issues to resolve with your doctor about loss of length, the sensitivity issue is certainly one that changes (and improves) during the recovery. And don't forget, were talking 12--18 months for most of those who have shared their experiences here on FT.
All the best,

Re: Loss of length and sensitivity
Thanks for the info and answers guys! My surgery was done by a Dr. Douglas Grier with Sound Urology Associates in Edmonds Wa. I can live with the sesitivity issue and am glad I can expect to get more feeling back. I am using this with little success in the "finishing" dept. far. I am way more concerned with the huge loss of length. I am seeing my Dr. on Monday to "discuss" this problem.
Re: Loss of length and sensitivity
Has anyone's doctor suggested a daily penis massage or possibly a daily "workout" with a Stamina Training Unit (Fleshlight), as a way to speed up the process of regaining sensitivity?
Re: Loss of length and sensitivity
I am using the "fleshlight" daily as part of my rehab (glad I kept it after getting married 2 years ago, haha). Hoping that it will help my implant (especially left cylinder) move into glans/head area. I just soap up everything in the shower and have a go at it for a few minutes. By the way, I have the loss of size/loss of sensitivity issues too, and I am not sure if it will help in that regard.........
Re: Loss of length and sensitivity
A daily penis massage seems like a good idea no matter the age or relative medical condition of the penis. Just sayin'.
