Still trying to adjust to the pump
Re: Still trying to adjust to the pump
Holy sheet, I went through the whole day without thinking about the pump. And no discomfort at all. Day 32.

Re: Still trying to adjust to the pump
Hi Ed,
I'm about 25 days post op, and mostly smooth sailing.
To answer your question about the pump, for me, I would say that the pump is the most uncomfortable part of the new me...
Big hard, foreign thing in my smallish sac. But I think my sac is slowly accommodating the new customer...
Stiches still not yet dissolved, so there's some prickly pain from stitches.
Occasional sharp, shooting pain, mostly in shaft or head. But these sharp pains are diminishing.
Still not activated... the doctor said 6-7 weeks, so I guess I have a couple weeks to go.
Personally, I don't think that I'm quite ready for activation yet (physically).
Hopefully soon!
Do you have an activation date, or have you already arrived?
Cheers,
Expo

Willing to discuss and answer questions, but probably too early to have much insight (yet).
Currently in very early days, not yet activated...

Re: Still trying to adjust to the pump
Does anyone know if a pump can be surgically adjusted/moved without having a full-blown implant replacement? Mine is too high and to the right (it is where my right testicle should be). I have tried pulling down on the pump but it doesn't move (I believe the surgeon didn't leave enough slack in the two small tubes that connect to the cylinders).

It's a question for the specialist methinks

Yes, but just wondering if anyone here has experienced this procedure.

My pump was located exactly as you described yours. Although it worked fine it bothered me. It was noticeable as there was a slight bulge higher up in my scrotum.
At first Dr Kramer was hesitant to do a revision because of risk reward but left the decision up to me. I elected to have the revision about three months ago.
The surgery was not as severe as the original implant. He removed the original pump and replaced it with a new one. He located it very low in my scrotum below my testicles.
Recovery was easier than original surgery but you still have to deal with the incision.
I'm very pleased with the revision as well as Dr Kramer.
Hope my experience helps you.

Re: Still trying to adjust to the pump
What is it with these 'superstar surgeons' putting the pump to high. How hard can it be to put it at the bottom of your sack. My local Urologist is tops and the 5.5cm in RTE'S have given me no problems at all.
