Time from start of ED to time requiring implant
Time from start of ED to time requiring implant
From the time when you first required any treatment for ED to the time when you determined (or decided) that you required implant (not date of implant but when everything else failed and decided implant was required), approximately how long was that time interval?
ED many years, failed PDE5i, on Trimix but recently needing large increasing strengths and doses

Around 5 years
Re: Time from start of ED to time requiring implant
My ED was caused by a Radical Prostatectomy.... I waited 2.5 years to get an implant. My dick atrophied during that time. "Soft dick orgasms" became more and more difficult to achieve. Implant was a real game changer. I never dreamed old age would be this much fun! Good luck!

LMCatman, you and I have much in common in our E.D. story: (1) caused by a radical prostatectomy, and (2) it took 2 years to get an implant, and thus my dick atrophied during that time. I could have orgasms with a soft dick during that time, but I couldn't have intercourse with my wife -- which we both missed a lot. And I totally agree with you when you wrote "Implant was a real game changer"!
Re: Time from start of ED to time requiring implant
About 10 years of struggling with failing treatments - pills (worked for years), Muse (didn't work at all), injections (also didn't work at all), finally the last straw - VED, which I wouldn't recommend to anybody.
Dave, 80, Maryland - Implant (Titan) 2008 by Dr. Andrew Kramer (failed Sept 2020) - never used due to a stroke that, among other things, ended my sex life.
Life is not the way it's supposed to be, it's the way it is.

Re: Time from start of ED to time requiring implant
It was about 7 months after the injections completely stopped working. The idea was brought to my attention by my urologist. I kept going back to him to increase the strength of the trimix. He asked me if I ever considered an implant. I didn't even know about them and he showed me what it looked like. I wasn't so keen on the idea at the time. He said I should wait until I get on Medicare cause they would pay for it. I was 61 at the time. But another few months of failure with injections combined with constriction rings convinced me to see the surgeon he recommended for a consultation. 3 weeks later I was implanted.
Oh, I forgot the most important part in helping me to decide. It was here, because like I said, I wasn't keen on the idea. But reading about others who had had the surgery and were happy with their new dicks really helped me to pull the trigger. And to also hear that the surgery wasn't that bad. I thought it would be horrendous, and I thought I would probably lose size, and lose sensitivity. So thanks to FT!

Re: Time from start of ED to time requiring implant
About 12 years. ED was after RP and I coped using caverject and edex brand injections until they quit working. Quite rapidly too I might add. Then went for the only choice left, an implant and glad I did. I was very fortunate not to have too many problems from 12 years of injections.
First implant has failed; two days to round two. Same doctor same hospital. The first round was excellent and I have no doubt round two will be also.
