Hello everyone,
I am 38-year-old suffering from ED since the last 6 years. Started to notice reduced libido and difficulty in achieving and maintaining an erection after being started on Anti-Depressants (Pristiq) for Anxiety issues about the same time.
Have been taking Cialis 5mg daily for last 5 years and it became a hit and miss since the last 3 years. Was able to achieve an erection on some occasions but lost it soon after penetration. Spoke to the Doctors regarding this on many visits and they advised there is nothing much the can do.
Successfully stopped taking any form of antidepressants to cure me of the ED since last 2 years but no improvement in either libido or sexual function.
Desperate to get my self-respect and to save my marriage (been married for 10 years) searched for various treatments of ED. Came across a Doctor in Sydney who specialises in Mens health. Had a penile ultrasound done on his recommendation and found that the cause of my ED is Venous Leakage.
The GP advised getting a Cavernosogram done and suggested possible Venous Stripping Surgery by a Urologist in Sydney. He advises Venous stripping is a highly technical procedure and is a very long surgery. He also mentions that the procedure may still not be successful. After researching various treatment options for ED and coming across the solution of Penile Implant to cure ED, I asked his opinion about this treatment modality. He advised against this option as the Implant will have to be replaced at least 2-3 times considering my age.
While waiting to get an appointment for Cavernosogram, I looked for various Surgeons who perform The Penile Implant procedure and came across Dr Love in Melbourne.
Had a Skype appointment with Dr Love who confirmed that the best solution for my problem would be to get an implant He suggested that I get a Coloplast Titan Implant.
I have booked myself to get the surgery done on the 24th of October.
Feeling very nervous and tensed at this stage considering what is about to come. Feel hopeful at the same time reading the successful journey of people in the forum.
Would be grateful if anyone can advise with tips to recover quicker and to minimise post-op pain and swelling.
Please wish me luck.

Re: Implant in 2 days
Phoenix,
I had my implant surgery 4 weeks ago. My advice is to follow doctor's orders. My recovery was pretty easy. Be sure to stay in bed as much as possible for a few days and use ice to keep your scrotum from swelling. You are young and if you are active you will want to get back to your regular routine, but it is important to take time to allow your body to recover.
During your recovery just remember that a few weeks of taking it easy is a short time in the long life you have ahead of you. If you are willing to do that, your results will be superior and you should be happy with your implant.
Best wishes.
Greg

You are welcome. I assume you have read through a lot of posts here from young guys. There is one titled 27 year old just down from this post and also look up dustyknox. I have not been in the young members forum since I am not young, but I am sure it is insightful.

Greg is right on the money. Rest -- like on your back with your feet up -- and when you get tired of that, do it some more. In no time at all, your recovery and any pain or discomfort will be a distant memory. And then, for the rest of your long life, you won't be burdened with the physical, mental and emotional burdens of ED.
All the best to you for your surgery and your new life.

Phoenix,
For what it is worth, and my case probably a bit different from some other (engineer expat working in Middle East, and had mine done via medical tourism route 4 weeks ago in New Dehli and GNH Hospital - Urologist there best in India with 700 implants under the belt and does 150 a year):
* I stayed in hospital for further 3 days after the op, and they feed me with IVs (both palms) of antibiotics, ant-inflammations and pain meds
* Flew back home day 4, and continued with meds regime and for another 7 days (back to office work after 2 days)
* Hot baths twice a day (I put some Dettol in the water - kill any bacteria). No ice packs needed - meds regime
* Activated at 2.75 weeks and been cycling twice a day since then - now at week 4 slowly starting stretching regime - get the most out of the LGX (chose this model, purely for the flaccid feel and look - covert single dating guy ), and ready for sex now - I will start with a hooker or two (these ladies professional and understanding - seen it all, so not so intimidating to begin with, and I work out my active routine with the implant, and then get back into open dating)
I am a relatively fit and healthy guy for my age, with all blood-work etc good, so while quite an ordeal as we all go through - coupled to the early 'WTF' stage most have, I just kept focusing on that fabulous end result (and loose the mind-scars of our ED phase), all was pretty much smooth sailing.
Given your age etc, you should expect a relatively smooth ride too - assuming you have chosen a high volume Surgeon with proven track record (and a reputed Theater -low infection risk).
My view is not to try and tough it out and loose the pain meds too early - I used them for an extended duration compared to some perhaps, regardless of whether I could have stopped or handled the pain.
Cheers
