No amount of homework can guarantee a good result; I don't believe anyone did any more homework than I did, by the way. Buyer beware! Hope for the best but just remember that you may not get the results you hoped for. That way, you won't be so disappointed, like I was. Also, keep in mind, that like a lot of things in life, happy people like to talk about/share their happiness with others. Unhappy people generally brood/keep quiet/don't share.
Finally, remember to read all the fine print on the release/hold harmless forms that you are asked to sign just before the surgery: the "complications" disclaimers (regarding loss of size, loss of sensation, possible curvature, floppy head, possibility of erosion, etc.). I signed them without giving them even a second thought, for I had done all my homework, had no other health problems, was focused/positive, had chosen the best ED surgeon in the USA, had been using my VED religiously for months, etc. I knew (or so I was convinced) that I was going to have a great result and was already mentally visualizing using my new, thicker, stay-hard-as-long-as-needed penis. Boy, was I in for a real disappointment...................
If you have nothing to lose, then go for it. However, if you can still have somewhat satisfactory sex, then I'd recommend not having the implant at this time. Just remember that it is irreversible! Also, keep in mind that the medical industry is not above planting touts on websites such as this one in order to bolster sales/procedures (at least the one guy above had the decency to admit that he works for Coloplast, before going on to say how great his implant is).
Hopefully you will have better luck than I have had. I just hope you are not having to pay for yours, like I did. That only added insult to injury.....
Anyway, that is my reality. Best of luck to you! Keep us posted..........
Is this all worth it?
Re: Is this all worth it?
ARTFIRN buddy by all means please consider it...I just posted a pic of me 6 weeks from surgury and a pic of me standing in front of the wife...I was a limp a noodle for over 3 yrs but now all I have to do is reach down and give about 8-10 pumps and I can make love to my volumptious wife again...it killed my manhood because I could not make love to her but it has done wonders for us both....I say go for it man unless you are afraid of having sex again...take care and God bless you on your decision

I have been reading prior to this that satisfaction rates for IPP's is over 90%, but nearly everyone who is posting to this site, at least recently, has had serious problems. Are results this bad or are the successful inplantees not bothering to post .
Has anyone out there had an implant done and completely satisfied with it.
Re: Is this all worth it?
I'll add my $0.02 here, as well. For me it was definitely worth it. From reading the forum, it's clear that there are no guarantees, but the odds of success are favorable. For many, being able to function again is invaluable.

I'm nearly one year post-op from getting a Titan. I experienced a few early quirks with it* but I'm overwhelming happy I had it done. The ability to get an errection without pills, vacuum pumps, shots, rings, etc... Oh my God, it's really nice.
*Things like: difficulty getting the pump bulb to depress, getting the release valve to work, my dick and balls being offset to the left, plus.,, once in a while getting a squeaking sound when pumping it up (that was embarrassing). Everything has resolved... Except the damn thing still squeaks sometimes. Heh.

Re: Is this all worth it?
As I've said before: before the implant I could get a large, hard erection using a VED and rings. But it could be difficult to orgasm before it started slowly shrinking. Now, after the implant, I can get a small (1/3 smaller than before) erection at will, but with a difficult to use small floppy head, and very decreased sensitivity (so much decreased that I cannot have orgasm during vaginal sex; must finish by hand). So it is six of one, half a dozen of the other for me. But since I had to pay cash for mine, I probably wouldn't do it if I could do it over again.

Jeez mk, we get it. Your Dr. messed up.
I'm terribly sorry, but damn...
EDIT...
Some of your recent posts are why I decided to register here and not just lurk. Hmmm let me try to do a Cliffs:
I was really, really fat most of my life I needed to have weight loss surgery. I did lots of research. One website in particular dwelled so hard on (what they felt) were the likely terrible complications that I delayed surgery for years. That delay cost me years of productive family life. In particular, my dad died before he got to see how getting skinny changed my life.
This feels similar. You can't believe how badly I feel about how your implant turned out, but I'm worried you are going to drive guys away from something that has the potential to seriously improve their intimate life. I really hope that you have some recourse to get things fixed without going bankrupt.
PS. Any chance a 'pud cuff' would help stiffen the floppy 1/3 so kind of normal intercourse is possible?
I'm terribly sorry, but damn...

Sorry if this ends up as a duplicate posting. It looks like the last bit of my message get chopped off so I'm going to try a re-post.

Art,
Let me say this; most of the guys that are satisfied with their implants just move on and rarely post anymore. I'm one of them! This is of course a big and personal decision that you (and maybe a partner) will ultimately have to make alone.
I'm very satisfied with the implant I had done last June in Chicago. Good luck!
Jake

Re: Is this all worth it?
I believe that it is just the opposite; most of the happy guys post often, but those of us who got a bad result just go away and brood silently........... That is why I post often about my bad results - so that people considering an implant will be fully aware of all the possible outcomes......
