Wow! Moving right along here and at a completely reasonable price. Congrats!!! (?) So how did the brand name viagra turn out? Same ol'? So you've decided to go forward with the surgery?

What have the discussions with your girlfriend been like?

Also, I thought you were in MN but you have Blue Cross Blue Shield of CA?

It would be great if you could document the experience i.e., erection size before and after, sensations following the implant, location of the pump, whether your glans engorge, what your girlfriend's experience is with the implant, etc. etc.

This would be very valuable because you are currently able to get erections with the pills but just not reliable. It would be great to compare sex on the pills with sex with the implant. Young guys would be eager to read your experience.

I think Congrats are in order for sure A lot of worry and concern about coverage is over now.
Now just to get to the painful part lol.
The closest I've been to a surgery like this would be a vasectomy I had in 2015.
Balls were sore as hell for about a week with discharge and itching at the incision (it was normal).

RE Girlfriend talks:
We are still in the early stages of discussion.
She has been very understanding with the problems but I know she is a very sexual creature and needs to get banged more than once every other week under perfect conditions.
The idea of getting it on every day or more than once a day is very appealing to both of us.
She had thought my interest in sex has waned, I've explained that my confidence has waned.
Saying I'm too tired to do it, or making up excuses if I hadn't taken a pill recently enough.

Responding the same way to pills as I had been. Hit or miss. Nearly full erection maybe 1/3 of the time but it's more the lack of keeping it hard over time that's the problem.
There are very certain positions I can do that work and those that don't I'll lose the erection very quickly.

RE:going forward
I am very certain I will have the procedure done.
My doctor hasn't put in the request for surgery yet as we were weighing the pill option as well.
But I'm ready to go!
If you think about it, the $200/month for viagra spanning a little over a year and a half would equal the cost of the surgery(for me).
Add the fact that I'd be done with experiencing side-effects from drugs and a reliable unit every time with rarely any malfunctions.
Yeah it feels like a no-brainer!

I'll probably update this thread through the prep until I go under the knife.

Something to think about is if you wait until after the 1st of the year you can maximize a FSA or HSA to help alleviate the cost more so.
It will be a life changing experience and well worth it for both of you.

Something of interest in case you haven't seen it.
This study was done with Coloplast implant recipients, but it covers before, after and follow-up erection sizes after exact instructions to pump every day for 2 years.

Almost all were satisfied with their surgery 1 patient out of the 40 weren't satisfied.
Too bad we don't know that one person's story!

I currently don't have a FSA (healthy guy I don't think about setting money aside like that)
But NOW would be the time to do that!

If your enrollment time for Health insurance is coming up to renew, I'm assuming it is through your work, if they offer it, FSA, take advantage of it, put money in tax free for medical, dental, vision and medicine. You just have to remember that most plans are if you don't use it you lose it. HSA though you don't lose it.

Something that wasn't mentioned or asked was did Dr. Bodie talk about the procedure, which way he would implant it. Scrotal or infrapubic. I believe those are the right terms. Mine was done infrapubic, just above the penis, reason being I had a double hernia surgery years prior and have mesh on both sides so he wanted to do it that way so he could place the resivoir easier and said the other way would make it more difficult and most likely cause more pain and healing time.
If I remember correctly most cases he does scrotal.
I'm truly excited for you for I too know the stress of everything that we have to deal with and our better halves don't truly understand . After my wife came to understand years later she correlated it with if a women was to get a masectomy she wouldn't feel complete. That might be something to share with your GF

If Bodie explained everything, he does keep you in the hospital overnight, but the way it is done, however he does it you aren't really admitted so there isn't a hospital stay bill, something like it's just a post op recovery period.

We haven't talked about the procedure yet. I'm just super glad my insurance covers it!
The authorization specialist was going to have him call me I believe tomorrow.
We'll most likely schedule a visit before the surgery I imagine to discuss the different methods for the procedure.
I'm not entirely familiar with the two options but do have faith he would choose the best one for me (with my input being important too but he's the pro right haha)

Right I think it's even MORE than a mastectomy, I would liken it to not having a working clitoris.
The idea of a stimulation that you can't have completely organically but would need a bionic clitoris.

He did note that there would be a "care suite" of sorts where it would be kind of a care center thing.
My mom did it for her hip replacement, it's like a little fancy hotel that helps with your overnight recovery.

Until that surgery is done, I'll be using these pills to fill in the gaps so to speak.
The kicker is the cost! $200 a month for pills that adds up! The idea of having a drug-free sexual hammer lolz
