I would say NO to driving that soon. You will have to lay down and put some ice packs for about a week. The swelling will go down gradually.

# 2 pain meds no driving while on them. You do and get stopped and charged with DUI figure 5 to 10 k in legal fees, fines community service , dui school. Plus insurance

# 3. Standard or automatic?

# 4. Where is your incesion
# 5. How far.
Since I did not a scrotal or pubic incession was not on pain meds drove 30 m8nutes back to dr next day plus any short trips around the motel. Drove home 2 .5 hours n3x5 day

#6. Potholes and speed bumps

#7. Emergency braking for other drivers, animals/kids running into the road

#8. Actual involvement in an accident.

#9. Complication of your surgery (possibly exacerbated by the efforts of driving) causing the need for medical attention or, at least, a relief driver.

Thanks for all the replies guys, all very helpful

Im going to err on the side of caution and not drive myself home that soon after the op....too much to risk .

I drive an automatic , and will certainly be making use of cruise control. Ill talk to my surgeon
In more detail the day after and go from there.

One week out and hoping for the best.

Ill check back in here after, maybe i can pass on something useful.

Sure, you can but you will pay for it. Best to have strict bedrest for at least 3 days. Not because you cannot walk around. Heck, most people walk out of the hospital on the day of the procedure. You need bedrest because bedrest reduces swelling.
