Titan questions at 6 weeks

Postby LA Johnson » Sat May 05, 2018 9:05 am

I found out yesterday that was the Titan, not OTR or touch. It doesn’t matter to me as long as it functions well for a long time, but the cynic in doesn’t like the idea of an implant that’s been sitting in a bin for 8 years. Anyone know if they are still in production?

Penis is straight but points 15 degrees left. Doc says should mostly straighten with cycling.

Right cylinder tip is 1cm short of the left one in the glans. A little annoying but no big deal. I wonder though if it could be related to the angling left?

Also I would have sworn I was told I had 1cm RTE installed but found out it was 2cm. Curious why not install 22cm implant instead of 20+2? I should have asked yesterday but for some reason it didn’t occur to me until I got home. Thanks for any info.

They still make all kinds of the Titans just because they produce a different model they don't stop the previous version. I have the exact same model as yours (Implanted 3.27.18) my doctor recommended this one because in a nutshell it is the easier and most reliable from his dealings. Do not feel as if you received some old out of date discounted product.

The Doctor chose the size of your implant and RTE best relating to your body and well being. Example my doctor could have implanted me with a 24cm and little to no RTE but instead he used a 22cm with 1.5cm and 2cm RTE, the reason being he did feel it would be in my best interest not to use clamps and extensions on the tubing required with the 24cm in my body. The more clamps and extensions adds to the fact there is a greater possibility of leakage and failure. I have over simplified this explanation but I certainly hope you have a better understanding. Take care and good health.
52 year old. Diagnosed with Venous Leak. Trimix was hit and miss. opt'd for implant Titan 22cm 3.5cm RTE by Dr. Hakky on March 27, 2018 ...Remember they never complaint how small your penis is when it is in their ass... just sayin' :o

I thought I asked Dr. Eid this and I might have misunderstood but I thought he said there are only 2 choices of pumps. I took that to mean one AMS and one Coloplast.

I frankly was thinking I would prefer the older (not one touch release) because they look smaller. I have good dexterity and see no reason to care if it takes a few seconds longer to deflate. At that point, I would be fine if it took 5 minutes. I would prefer a smaller more nature profile especially since I think my scrotum and testicles are probably on the small side of normal.

Three pumps for Titan: Genesis , OTR, Touch.
All three are on the market today. some doctors prefer the old model ( Genesis) because it's simpler and must reliable. I have the latest version (touch) and I'm very happy..

I asked my doc your question and he said that if he installed a 22 instead of 20+2, the tubes coming out of the cylinder would exit farther down and thus cause the pump to be positioned higher in the scrotum.

What I continually have issues with this type of statement is that by my understanding, that is the issue if the doctor uses a factory pre connected kit. I really have issues with preconnected one size fits all tubing length. To me it is a doctor in too big of a rush to cram many surgeries in a day to maximize his cash flow vs. caring about the best possible fit for the customer by making the connections himself. Kits come in individual components, pre connected kits, scrotal kits and infrapubic kits and all have different tubing lengths different arrangements of tubing exit. That is one thing I am really liking about Eid. There seems to be no lack of inventory at his place. Enough inventory that several people have said he tries an implant and if he does not like it, he throws it away and gets another. I swear some places have very few options to chose from so you are stuck with making what you get fit. Dr. Kramer told me he would like to have put a 24cm in me with no tip extenders but he would have had to order it. That is like putting a Chevrolet hubcap on a Cadillac to me because all you have on hand is chevrolets but charge cadillac prices because the caddy still received a hubcap.
LGX 21cm .Milam 01/13/16. Horror; both service and surgical outcome. hated infrapubic installation. Kramer revision 03/01/17. 22cm Titan +1.5cm extender. Those who think their opinion is the only one that matters are a danger to themselves and others.

I am so glad that doctors here get paid by the procedure and the only get a specific amount of OR time per month. This works out far better for the patient. Some one, somewhere says it takes number of minutes to do a simple implant... a difficult implant has to be accompanied by a report saying why it was difficult. The patient wins with this system. :)

Just to be fair to Dr Wang, he is a salaried doctor at MD Anderson. He told me he will take all the time needed to do it right. He gets paid the same no matter how many procedures he does. And as to using preconfigured tubing, any splice connection is a possible point of failure. The doc's experience tells him to avoid this. We talked about RTEs and he said he minimizes their use, but pump placement is a factor in that determination. I do not fault him for his decision to use an RTE. He has done thousands, so I have to trust his experience.
